Radiohead Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

come to me for I am a wicked child????
I am a wicked child
I am a wicked child
I am the devil's son and I wish I could be good
keep you satisfied
I wish I could be good
I wish I could be good
come to me for I am a wicked child????
I am a wicked child
I am a wicked child
I am a wicked child

I want to be dead (?)
I want to be dead (?)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Radiohead's song Untitled are cryptic and open to interpretation. The repeated refrain of "I am a wicked child" suggests a sense of guilt or shame that the singer is grappling with. They also refer to themselves as the "devil's son," indicating a struggle with temptation and possibly even a crisis of faith. The line "I wish I could be good" further reinforces this internal conflict. The ambiguity of the song's lyrics adds to its haunting quality.

At the same time, the chorus of the song, "come to me for I am a wicked child," can also be read as a plea for help or understanding. The singer is acknowledging their flaws and asking for someone to see past them and connect with them on a deeper level. The line "keep you satisfied" suggests a desire to please others, possibly at the expense of their own well-being.

Overall, the lyrics of Untitled are a fascinating exploration of inner turmoil, shame, and the human desire for connection and understanding.

on No Surprises

The way i interpret the lyrics: ; Once excitement of youthful perspective,, hopes, dreams are broken, into an almost nihilistic acceptance of patterns world, we coast,….. become a part of the dull hum we swore we never would become part of. Time pulls us forward, wears and tears until we accept. Can not fight against the current yet knowing we swore we would never.
