Foster began his solo career in 1992 when he signed to Arista Records, Although his first release for the label (1992's Del Rio, TX 1959) produced four consecutive Top 40 hits, Foster saw his commercial success waning with the release of his second and third albums (1995's Labor of Love and 1999's See What You Want to See, respectively), and by 1999 he had exited Arista's roster. He then signed to the independent Dualtone Records label, for which he has recorded three more albums to date: 2001's Are You Ready for the Big Show?, 2002's Another Way to Go and 2006's This World We Live In. During this time Foster's recording successes included the Top Ten US hits "Just Call Me Lonesome" (#10, 1992) and "Nobody Wins" (#2, 1993). In addition, he wrote singles for Sara Evans, Keith Urban and Jack Ingram.
In September 2009 Foster released the album Revival under the band name "Radney Foster and the Confessions" and a feature length DVD documentary on the making of the album. The 90-minute film was co-produced by Foster and his wife. Keith Urban recorded Foster's song "I'm In" for his 2009 album Defying Gravity and it became a No. 2 single.
In December 2010, Foster rejoined the Foster & Lloyd duo and they released the album "It's Already Tomorrow" in 2011.
Labor Of Love

Both ends at the same time
There ain't enough money in this town
To make it worth working so hard
Honey nothings worth growing so cold
That you lose your heart and soul
So day by day we've gotta spend some time
On the labor of love
It's the labor of love
I want you I need you
I know we're strong enough
It just takes working on the labor of love
You've been living on empty arms
I've been standing on shaky ground
I've been thinking 'bout who we are
And what love really means
Girl it's gonna take all we got
But the real thing always does
So day by day we've gotta spend some time
On the labor of love
It's the give and take when everything is on the line
It's the labor of love
I want you I need you
I know we're strong enough
It just takes working on the labor of love
[SOLO]
I want you I need you
I know we're strong enough
It just takes working on the labor of love
Two people working on the labor of love
Girl we're working on the labor of love
Radney Foster's "Labor of Love" is a song about a couple who have been burning the candle at both ends and are tired of working so hard for money. They have come to realize that there is more to life than just working, and they need to focus on their love and relationship with each other. The song is about the labor of love, which means putting in the effort and time to make a relationship work. It's about the give and take that is required when everything is on the line. They both need each other to make it work, but it takes effort.
The lyrics talk about the struggles that come with being in a relationship and the importance of working on it. The lines "There ain't enough money in this town/To make it worth working so hard" emphasize that love is more important than money. The line "Honey nothingβs worth growing so cold/That you lose your heart and soul" highlights the importance of keeping the relationship alive and not letting it grow cold. The song ends on a hopeful note that the couple will continue to work on their love.
