As You Are
Rag'n'Bone Man Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
You calmed the storm when it was rising
You found me there where I was hiding
All I have is here and now
If the ground beneath our feet has disappeared
I'll be here beside you, always be right near you
Remember me, won't you?
I know we've all got our problems
And it's a blessing that we made it here so far
If you lay here in these arms tonight I promise
I promise to take you, take you as you are
When I was reaching out in the dark
When the streets below just looked so far
When I forgot everything that I was
All I needed was your love
If the earth beneath our feet is old and caves in
For a second we will fight
When it's late in the evening, don't let me go, dear
I know we've all got our problems
And it's a blessing that we made it here so far
And if you lay here in these arms tonight I promise
I promise to take you, take you as you are
Take you as you are, as you are
Take you as you are, as you are
Take you as you are, as you are, ooh (as you are)
As you are
I know we've all got our problems
And it's a blessing that we made it here so far
And if you lay here in these arms tonight I promise (I promise)
I promise to take you, take you as you are
I know we've all got our problems
And it's a blessing that we made it here so far
If you lay here in these arms tonight I promise
I promise to take you, take you as you are (oh, Lord)

The lyrics are a testament to the strength of their bond, with the singer affirming that they will always be there for the other person, "If the ground beneath our feet has disappeared // I'll be here beside you, always be right near you // Remember me, won't you?"
The chorus repeats the message of acceptance and unconditional love, with the singer declaring, "I promise to take you, take you as you are." The lyrics suggest that they have both faced their fair share of problems and difficulties, but their love has endured. Even when the world around them is falling apart, they can find solace in each other's arms, "If the earth beneath our feet is old and caves in // For a second we will fight // When it's late in the evening, don't let me go, dear."

Music is art, and Rag’N’Bone Man makes it very apparent.

Am not trying to be rude on any ways but are you really 75??

Right on brother, I'm exactly half your age, hope the 2nd half isn't as weird as the first was for me, but this guy & his group are very good.

@Stoney Why not, I'm 67 and have been listening to him most of the morning. People seem to have very strange ideas of older people.
