Killing in the Name
Rage Against the Machine Lyrics

Killing in the name of

Some of those that work forces
Are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces
Are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces
Are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces
Are the same that burn crosses
Uh

Killing in the name of
Killing in the name of

Now you do what they told ya
Now you do what they told ya
Now you do what they told ya
Now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya
But now you do what they told ya
Well now you do what they told ya

Those who died are justified
For wearing the badge
They're the chosen whites
You justify those that died
By wearing the badge
They're the chosen whites
Those who died are justified
For wearing the badge
They're the chosen whites
You justify those who died
By wearing the badge
They're the chosen whites

Some of those that work forces
Are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces
Are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces
Are the same that burn crosses
Some of those that work forces
Are the same that burn crosses
Uh

Killing in the name of
Killing in the name of

Now you do what they told ya
Now you do what they told ya
Now you do what they told ya
Now you do what they told ya
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya, now you're under control
And now you do what they told ya

Those who died are justified
For wearing the badge
They're the chosen whites
You justify those that died
By wearing the badge
They're the chosen whites
Those who died are justified
For wearing the badge
They're the chosen whites
You justify those that died
By wearing the badge
They're the chosen whites
Come on

Uh
Yeah
Come on
Uh

Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me
Motherfucker
Uh

This song is the most controversial song in the history ...

The song and the lyrics are perfect ...

The audience grow up to become Biden voters, vaccine advocates, masked single drivers, social distance pushers, stay at home mandates heroes ...

Ultimately the audience grow up to become state worshippers , welfare lovers ...

Dont hate me ...

I love everyone...

i think this song is even more timely now than it was when it came out tbh.

we just had a violent insurrection in which right wing white supremacists descended upon the capitol with the intention of overthrowing our democracy. they overran the security, destroyed government property bought with everyone’s tax dollars, broke into the senate chambers, attacked POC, screamed the worst racial slurs against black people and jewish ppl, constructed a noose in front of the White House, people were hurt and killed including police officers (who the right wings claims to love but only when it suits their agenda).

the same ppl who deny white privilege were filming and posting videos and pics of themselves committing crimes without the slightest bit of concern that they would be gunned down, harmed, or arrested. the majority of them weren’t, they were allowed to leave and nothing has happened to them. some officers were taking pics with them— “those who work forces are the ones who burn crosses”.

there’s actually a good documentary called “capital riot minute by minute” that shows the insurrection as it happened using footage from the thousands of ppl who posted their crimes under their own names in public forums. now they try to deny what happened as if the world didn’t watch it live. there’s footage of nonviolent BLM peaceful protesters being shot with rubber bullets and tear gas while being beaten and arrested by police at a protest walk in DC months earlier which is shown side by side with the capital insurrection footage. its a stark image that perfectly captures the two americas.

it made my stomach turn to watch it. there’s a stark difference between the left and the right. the right truly want harm to come to us. watching the rioters attack an innocent black man they spotted walking, minding his own business, just trying to get away from a white mob. he managed to run escape but he was bleeding heavily. it was like watching footage from selma in the 1960s or germany in the 1930s. and while all this was happening, the president was encouraging the violence in that slippery barely legal realm in which he resides— saying enough to enrage the rioters but not enough to meet the legal criteria for inciting a riot. he was watching the chaos on tv and the atmosphere was like a party (yes there’s pics and video they posted bc of course they did).

i’m disgusted to call myself an american at this point. we are an embarrassment to the entire world and to ourselves. i want to fight for the future of this country. it’s difficult bc the right does things that the left and democrats won’t do. i’m not a dem and i’m not saying they are perfect but they aren’t encouraging violence, hatred, bigotry, division and dishonesty on the same scale and frequency as the right.

trump supporters committed election fraud then the big lie conspiracy theory so that ppl would forget that the only cases of election fraud that occurred were by trump supporters. whenever they accuse the left/dems of something i just assume the right is already doing it; like how cheaters will accuse their partners of cheating. we’re always left with two shit candidates to choose from and pretend we have an actual choice.

i’d love to think that one day we will overcome these issues. they are so ingrained in our society, our laws, our lives. this song is even more relevant now than it was when it came out.

(sry lol this kind of became an essay but i got fired up from listening to this song.)

My favorite memory of this song will always be coming home from school, walking in my house to my dad screaming the lyrics playing air guitar to this.
