They rehearsed two days to work out a repertoire of rainbirds-songs, instrumentals by ulrike and a couple of pieces written exclusively for theatre plays and the group stein. then they appeared under the motto "two faces in a different light" on september 2nd 1993.
it is this performance that katharina likes to remember as her favorite, and it was after this one, that tim, ulrike and katharina decided to move on as the new rainbirds trio.
they kept performing and touring under the pseudonym "three birds of a feather" while they were working out a new band sound, considering their special line-up: keyboards, vocals/ guitar and drums.
they were without a deal then, but rough trade records came to see them play live a couple of times, and while the band proceeded to tour under their original name in 1995, the contract came to be.
they entered the puk-studio in denmark in oktober 1995 and the self-produced "making memory" was released in march 1996. apart from some bewilderment as to what rainbirds would look and sound like now after one more metamorphosis, the reception was warm. more touring and festival playing, and back in the studio in april 1997. this time co-producer jon caffery recorded and mixed the album "rainbirdsforever" in his own la chapelle-studio in belgium. this album was released in october and was greatly appreciated in the media, and the tour in jan/feb 1998 rewarded the trio with sold out clubs and exceptionally good reviews.
they decided to tour once more in may to record two shows on 24 track analog and will release rainbirds3000.live in january 1999.

It's All Right
Rainbirds Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I remind you of what’s oh so clear
I, I, I have no time to waste
Will you get something
I call it second skin
It’s that tearing will to win
It drives you out of your head
I know you hate it like some kind of bloody stain
With nothing to clean it up but the rain
Oh you will get so wet
You’ll never dry again
Whatever it is, it’s all right
Sometimes you tell me you’re afraid to get hurt
You shiver like a little bird
And to hold you tight and never let you go
I want to hold you tight
But here I tell you but you don’t want to hear
Decide and remind you ’bout what’s oh so clear
Cause I have again no time to waste
I have no time to waste
And now you hate me like some kind of bloody stain
With nothing to clean it up but the rain
Oh you will get so wet
You’ll never dry again
Whatever it is, it’s all right
Whatever it is, it’s all right
Whatever it is, it’s all right
Baby, baby, baby, baby, baby
It’s all right
It’s all right
Everything is all right
You and me, you and me
At its core, Rainbirds' "It's All Right" is a song about tough love, urging the listener to face their fears head-on instead of shying away from them. The opening lines, "I tell you what you don't want to hear / I remind you of what's oh so clear," set the tone for the rest of the song, which is essentially a plea for the listener to take action and overcome whatever obstacles are in their path. The chorus repeats the mantra of "Whatever it is, it's all right," driving home the point that no matter how difficult the situation may seem, the listener has the strength to navigate it.
The verses of the song take a more personal turn, with the singer offering comforting words to someone they care about who is struggling with their own fears. Lines like "Sometimes you tell me you're afraid to get hurt / You shiver like a little bird" show a deep level of empathy and understanding, while the repeated refrain of "I want to hold you tight" offers a sense of comfort and reassurance.
Overall, "It's All Right" is a powerful reminder that sometimes the most difficult decisions are the ones that lead to the greatest growth, and that by facing our fears head-on, we can emerge stronger and more resilient than ever before.
