RKS was formed in early 2013 when the first two members, Ela Melo and Darrick "Bozzy" Keller, decided to begin writing and composing music together. What started out as just two college students with acoustic guitars, would soon turn into a full band with a uniquely controversial name.
After recording RKS's first EP "Mary" in an old dorm room on the campus of Appalachian State University, the duo decided to take it up a notch by adding more members and instruments to the band. Over the next year the group widely expanded in size and sound by adding three more members: Ethan Goodpaster (Electric Guitar), Jess Haney (Drums), and Charlie Holt (Bass). In that year, RKS independently released their first album "Seven" (Which was later re-released in combination with the band's first EP as a joint album titled "Seven + Mary"). The title song, "Seven" has been featured in many places on the web including in the very popular podcast by IGN, Podcast Beyond! The song "Devil Like Me" and its music video earned the band a spot in VH1's "Make A Band Famous" contest where they made it to the final 24 out of thousands of artists from across the US.
The group's main interest is producing a quality, unique, and fresh sound for all music lovers to listen to and enjoy. Their new album "RKS! Live from Athens, Georgia" is now available on iTunes & Spotify

Wizard on a weekend
Willing on a weekday
Are you kidding come on
Fed up with the prepay
Looking for a keepsake
I'm no emerald liar
Dying for a card up my sleeve
For higher stakes and brighter takes I'll play
I'll make a deal with you, if all you want
Is not to leave love, to run 'em up
Call me When It Lands
Hit me up when you're close
Call when you can
Call me when you're close
Sugar city
Pretty magic
Got me good vibes
Thank God I ain't driving
Traffic vision
Blurred blue bleedin'
That's a black out ladder
It don't matter anyhow
I'm climbing
Keep my good vibes
And check coats for cool climates
In common we got
Good friends rolled light on split ends
Pretty magic
Traffic addicts
Now I don't really know where you stay at, can I get an address?
Never mind my phone dead forget it
I don't really know where to bake that, less you tryna get in
In which case my phone dead, forget it
And I never answer calls when I'm in the kitchen
Cooking
It's just a thing
It's out
And I never call back when my friends all looking at me in the car
'Cause it'd be all they wanna talk about
Oh you tryna to get a deal? A deal? A deal
Sorry on the real
But my eyes and my ears don't work well
And the floor keeps sliding out my heels
I can't feel 'em am I still dreaming?
Skull on the table a still life
Is this still life?
What's the meaning are we still dealing?
Feel like I can't act right
Oh right
Sugar city
Pretty magic
Got me good vibes
Thank God I ain't driving
Traffic vision
Blurred blue bleedin'
That's a black out ladder
It don't matter anyhow
I'm climbing
Keep my good vibes
And check coats for cool climates
In common we got
Good friends rolled light on split ends
Pretty magic
Traffic addicts
I'll make a deal with you, if all you want
Is not to leave love, to run em up
Call me When It Lands
Hit me up when you're close
Call me when you can
Call me when you close
When were you planning on coming my way?
I've been here waiting all damn day to turn the the lights down low
And turn the table on you
Will you keep all that you came with and more?
I'd play your game but I don't know what for
Cut the cable on
Every table I lose
Call me When It Lands
Hit me up when you're close
When you know you've won
Rainbow Kitten Surprise's song "When It Lands" is filled with vivid imagery and complex emotions. The song is about a love affair and the yearning for connection that comes with it. The song opens with the lines "Sugar city come home/Wizard on a weekend/Willing on a weekday/Are you kidding come on." The singer is calling out to their lover to come home and be with them. The references to a "wizard on a weekend" and "willing on a weekday" suggest that the singer is willing to make time for their lover no matter what day of the week it is.
Throughout the song, the singer speaks about their desire for something more in their life. They say that they are "looking for a keepsake" and that they are "dying for a card up [their] sleeve." These lines suggest that the singer is searching for a way to gain an advantage in their life, whether that be in love or in another aspect of their life.
The chorus of the song is a plea for their lover to call them "when it lands." They say that they will make a deal if their lover wants to "not to leave love, to run 'em up." The chorus is one of the most memorable parts of the song, with the repetition of the phrase "call me when it lands" adding to the sense of urgency and longing.
Overall, "When It Lands" is a song about the desire for connection and the search for something more in life. The vivid imagery and complex emotions make the song a powerful and moving experience.

@victoriarose9348
genuinely genuinely genuinely... this song is exactly what being high to cope w ur shit feels like. starts off steady and vibey, but not a whole lot. slightly blurry, yknow? its like that little voice in your head, that literally sounds like the devil they reference in their music all the time: "fuck it, you should just get violently high". and its fun. then: a pause. you realize its actually hitting. 1:20. then it just keeps going up from there. even the dialogue "i dont really know where to bake that, unless you're tryna get it, in which case, my phone died, forget it." exactly how it feels to be at a party high asf and walking through a sea of people and small talk like yea, i dont give a fuck just let me vibe. "and i never call back when my friends are in the car, lookin at me cuz its all they'd wanna talk about" being annoyed at the concern of your friends while you're peaking in a car w em and trying to mask... the whole "i can't feel am i still dreaming? skull on the table" seeing your own mortality when you start to get anxiety that you might've finally done too much. finally, it stops and you're on that sweet sweet depressive come down. 3:00. this is musically and lyrically fucking genius. the amount of love i have for this band is insane. my life has been changed, i love you rks <3
also: i know its not listed in the official lyrics, but i am convinced its not "I'll make a deal with you, if all you want
Is not to leave love, to run 'em up".
i personally hear "I'll make a deal with you, if all you want
Is not to live long, to run 'em up" but idk if thats just me projecting lol
i actually think i have to write an essay to dissect this song oh my goddddddddd bro
