pulling on my earlobes
"this is not ours.
my heart frames a window,
my loss is really your own."

yeah, talking is just one draft and said.

Overall Meaning

The above lyrics are from the song "i" by Rainer Maria. The opening line "pulling on my earlobes" creates a vivid image of someone who is anxious or nervous. It is as if the singer is trying to calm themselves down by pulling on their earlobes. The following lines "this is not ours. my heart frames a window, my loss is really your own" are introspective and deep. It seems to suggest a realization that the things we hold onto in life are not truly ours, and that our losses may affect others just as much as they affect us. The phrase "my heart frames a window" creates the feeling of transparency and vulnerability. The singer is exposing their innermost thoughts and feelings to someone else, and in doing so, they are acknowledging the impact their emotions have on others.

The last line, "yeah, talking is just one draft and said" adds to the theme of vulnerability, as it suggests that words are not enough to convey the complexity of one's emotions. The use of the word "draft" implies that there are multiple versions of the truth, and that language may not fully capture the depth of someone's feelings. Through these lyrics, Rainer Maria delves into the complicated nature of human emotions, and how our inner worlds can have a profound impact on those around us.

anyone notice the book in the drummer's hand? pretty sure it's sartre's no exit, in which three people who despise each other are forced to spend eternity with one another. i think it fits well and reveals some info on the lyrics as well as makes the ending to the video more haunting

I will never get sick of this song. It's amazing. Her voice is incredible - sweet, but really powerful. Amazing. We at The Girls Are a little obsessed. This was our song of the week a little while back, and we also featured Rainer Maria in our top 5 'bands we miss the most' article. Brill.

Jess Kio

One of my favorite songs. Saw them live once. She was absolutely gorgeous.

I know I just found this several days ago, but I think this has to be one of my favorite songs ever. I probably have listened to it at least eight times today alone. I love it...GET BACK TOGETHER!!

yes it is. my english teacher actually showed my class this song/video when we were studying no exit and told us the video based on that story. :) and as a random side thing, he and half of my class actually hears the first line as "half-baked" xD (but yes, he did tell us that it's actually "have faith")

Amen. Amen.

You are smart.
