Die Fiass damma weh in meine neichn Sandale
Mei Freundin is apascht mit an Italiano
Des Göd hams ma gestessn jetzt steh I alla do
Und hab kane Lire, I hob keine Lire
Und kane papiere
So was hamm wia ned viere
Auf amoe wars Peule mit dem Papagalle
Und mi lasst's da anglahnt
In meine neichn Sandale, des is a Skandale
I hab kane Lire und kane papiere
So was hat er ned viere

Er wollte Amore mit bella ragazza
Auf sentimentale und auf da Matraza
Dann is er no antanzt mit'n Alfa Romeo
Zerscht hab eam no ausglacht
Und jetzt steh I sche do
Und hab kane Lire, I hob keine Lire

Dem hau I de Zend ei
I hab kane Lire und hab kane papiere

Doch jetzt hab I endgültig gnua vo die Gfrisa
Total abgebrannt steh i da ganz allani
Wa I nua daham bliebn bei meine Kumpani

Was brauch I den Bledsinn
I steh aufs Gänsehäuferl und auf Jesolo da pfeif I

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in Rainhard Fendrich's song, Strada Del Sole, depict a man who is stranded and broke on the side of the famous Italian autobahn - Strada del Sole. The person's feet hurt due to walking for long distances in new sandals. His girlfriend left him for an Italian fellow and he is left alone with no money, no papers, and no sense of direction. All he wished for was to travel to Florence, Rome or Pisa but now he has had enough of the struggles and wants to head back to his homeland; where he belongs.

The song captures the essence of the struggles foreigners face in new environments, especially when they are alone and broke. It is also a representation of modern-day hustling as many people find themselves in the same shoes, seeking better opportunities and ending up facing a string of financial and emotional challenges. The theme is relatable and resonates with many people, making it a classic piece of music.

@SabinUche

Schade!

@Agamemnon5

@Droogie1282

Man sagt jetzt Alte Deutsche Welle :-)
