Rajaton Lyrics

Valon pitkä kieli pöydän pintaa koskettaa
Jossain syntyy tähti, sekunniksi sulaa jää
Toinen tähti syliin sirpaleiksi räjähtää
Hetken veden peiliin, ikuisiksi ajoiksi
Me tehtiin kaikki mitä täällä osattiin
Pilvet kulki, sattui sateita
Heitä nyt tuuleen tuhkanharmaat sukkasi
Kesät ylittävät kyllä rannan aina ajallaan
Niin hyvin tiesin, etten ole oikea
Ja sinä tiesit, ettei niitä olekaan
Niin hyvin tiesin, etten ole oikea
Ja senkin, että aina ehtii aloittaa
The lyrics of Rajaton's song Nova describe the passing of time and the impermanence of life. The first verse speaks of a comet swinging its tail in the darkness, while a long tongue of light touches the surface of a table. The second line talks about a star being born, only to melt away in a second. The next line tells of another star exploding into fragments. These metaphors convey the fleeting nature of creation and how nothing lasts forever.
The second verse then reflects on the transience of human life. The lyricist tells of how they did everything they could in the moments they had, leaving a mark on the world. The passing of clouds and the occurrence of rain both represent the ever-changing nature of life. The final lines of the verse suggest that everything is relative, and this particular moment is what gives meaning to everything that follows.
The final verse seems to offer some consolation in the face of this impermanence. The lyricist urges the listener to cast off their ash-gray socks and embrace life as it comes. The passing of one season into another is inevitable, but everything will happen in its own time. The singer acknowledges that they are not perfect or immortal, but still invites the listener to embark on new beginnings.
