I received a letter informing me of my parents' death

For years they've been dead, the fields have turned brown
The fields have become brown and barren over the years that my parents have been deceased

For many long years I've traveled in sorrow
I have spent many years traveling and mourning

No thoughts of the day when I would return
I did not think about the day I would return home

Now as I go home and find no one waiting
When I return home, I find that no one is there waiting for me
