Lightbringer
Ram Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Destiny has brought you here Escaping from the claws of fear To this unknown realm of secrecy and pain
What can you trust? What is real? What does this chasm in your mind conceal? Who are you? Gazing in to the abyss
Secrets, darkness, mental void Awaken, blinding thoughts destroy Words of truth are calling you Desolation is the saviour they can never subdue
Serpents are rising in darkness Uncoiling in obscurity
To crack the cross and scorn the laws To greet death and feel it´s claws You need a mind of steel and a burning soul
To turn your back on the indolent world And see barren wastelands unfurl You need a will divine and a treaty with the unknown
The sting of truth, behind the masque Lightbringer

Overall Meaning

The first few lines of the song "Lightbringer" by Ram speaks of the journey of someone fleeing from the shackles of a life filled with fear and uncertainty, crossing over to an unknown realm of secrecy and pain. The lyrics pose a question about reality and trust while suggesting that the singer may have fallen into a deep chasm of self-doubt and confusion about their existence. The verse also talks about the person gazing into an abyss, which could indicate that they are contemplating the darker side of their mind.

In the following lines, the lyrics describe how the singer feels trapped in darkness, surrounded by secrets and mental void. However, they are awakened by some "blinding thoughts" that help them face the truth of their situation. They realize that they must confront the despair and desolation they are experiencing, and only then can they find salvation. The chorus then touches upon the image of the serpent, which in mythology, represented death and rebirth.

The next line seems to directly address someone mustering the courage to break free from this cycle of death and rebirth. They must reject the laws that tie them to such suffering and instead turn towards the barren wastelands that lie before them. The song concludes with the lightbringer, which could symbolize a spiritual guide or the guiding light to enable them to see through the darkness.

Strange.. Somehow I missed this one.
It sounds different then 2005 and 2015 - a lot darker. Less Judas Priest, more King Diamond.
So atmospheric!

Cant heard the person at the beginning. Can you write it?

muy buen álbum, pero creo que debió haber sido este el primer trabajo y su debut el segundo, en este álbum a mi parecer hay mucha influencia de Cirith Ungol, por lo obscuro de la temática.
