In love with this song. Is the African section in Swahili? It sounds like he is singing some of the Ramayan but I am not sure.

Very tuneful. Though the lyrics could have been different. This is the carnatic classical composition by Saint Thyagaraja. This rendering bears no resemblance - not even remote - to the original melody ; except the mukhda bears some similarity. Then why to use the lyrics of the song ? The lyrics does not fit in well with the melody. An otherwise good performance is spoilt by the use of an inapt lyrics. But the singing is quite good. Thanks
