Hand of Glory
Ramesses Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Bolts from the Sky
Piercing our lives
Justice decays and seamlessness Dies
Ignite Our Skies
Now Burn The Hand
Hallow Our Land

Ignite Our Skies
Sever

Defile and Burn
Burn Burn Burn

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Ramesses' song Hand of Glory seem to be about a call to action against injustice and a corrupt system. The "hand of glory" in the title refers to a severed hand that was used in medieval times for dark magic rituals. The song talks about bolts from the sky, which could be interpreted as a metaphor for a divine intervention that is needed to restore justice. It talks about how justice is decaying and how seamlessness dies, perhaps referring to the fact that the system is flawed and doesn't work as it should.

The lyrics urge the listener to ignite their skies, which could mean to create chaos and an uprising against the corrupt system. The repetition of "now burn the hand, hallow our land" could be the call to sever ties with the old ways and start anew, to burn down the old and bring in the new. The final lines of the song, "sever, defile and burn, burn burn burn," is a continuation of the call to destroy the old and corrupt system.

@kingramesses Yeah I heard of those bands when Electric Wizard did the compilation album of their material.

Mitchfynde

@kingramesses Kinda, but not really. Closest I can think of is Hooded Menace, but it's still pretty different. I find Ramesses is a pretty unique band. I do know they have at least one ex-member of Electric Wizard if you werent aware of that LOL
