The Rains of Castamere

"That I must bow so low"
Only a cat of a different coat
That's all the truth I know
In a coat of gold or a coat of red
A lion still has claws
Mine are long and sharp, my lord
As long and sharp as yours
And so he spoke, and so he spoke
That Lord of Castamere
But now the rains weep o'er his hall
And not a soul to hear
"And who are you?" The proud Lord said
"That I must bow so low"
Only a cat of a different coat
That's all the truth I know
And so he spoke, and so he spoke
That Lord of Castamere
But now the rains weep o'er his hall
And not a soul to hear
And so he spoke, and so he spoke
That Lord of Castamere
But now the rains weep o'er his hall
And not a soul to hear
(And so he spoke) and so he spoke
(That Lord of Castamere) Lord of Castamere
(But now the rains) weep o'er his hall
(And not a soul to hear)
And not a soul to hear
The Rains of Castamere is a chilling and ominous song that was originally composed by Ramin Djawadi for the hit television series, Game of Thrones. The lyrics of the song tell a story of the proud Lord of Castamere, who meets his doom at the hands of the powerful Lannister family. The song is written from the perspective of the Lord of Castamere and his interactions with the Lannisters, and ultimately, his downfall.
The first verse sets the tone for the rest of the song, with the Lord of Castamere questioning the Lannisters' power and success. He is confused and curious about their strength and asks, "And who are you? That I must bow so low". The Lannister family is known for their golden or red coats, which the Lord references as "a coat of gold or a coat of red." However, he realizes too late that even a lion, the symbol of the Lannisters, has claws, and his are as sharp as theirs.
The haunting chorus of the song repeats twice, with the Lord of Castamere singing about his own demise. He vainly questions once again the power of the Lannisters "And who are you?" before acknowledging that he is merely "a cat of a different coat." The repetition of the chorus is a powerful reminder of the futility of challenging the Lannisters.
Overall, The Rains of Castamere captures the menacing and foreboding atmosphere of Game of Thrones, with its dark and sinister lyrics and haunting melody.

This song, well known as the Lannister song, coincided with Tywin Lannister in particular, describes how young Tywin Lannister executed all family members of the House Reyne. Tywin's father Tytos Lannister, Liege Lord was considered weak and House Reyne rebelled against him. Young Tywin Lannister marched to confront Lord of the Castamere, Roger Reyne and restore Lannister dominance.
"And who are you, the proud lord said,
that I must bow so low,"
*Lord Reyne questions the authority of House Lannister.
"Only a cat of a different coat,
that's all the truth I know.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red,
a lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord,
as long and sharp as yours."
*Sigil of the House Lannister was a Golden Lion while the House of Reyne had a Red Lion making this battle a clash of Lions. Lord Reyne attempts to compare his power with the Lannisters, which is an illusion soon to be shattered by Tywin.
"And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
that Lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall,
with no one there to hear.
Yet now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear."
*He spoke he questioned, only in vain, today the halls of Castamere are empty as Tywin Lannister obliterated the entire House Reyne, rightfully displaying their dominance and immortalizing Twyin Lannister.
All hail Tywin Lannister, the master tactician and the true king who never wore a crown.

"A lion does not concern himself with the opinions of a sheep"
Whenever I hear the Rains of Castemere, I can't help but think about Tywin. He truly was the epitome of what it meant to be a Lannister. Dignified, intelligent, cunning, and ruthless. Tywin definitely was one of my favorite characters of the series.
@prakhargodbole5558
Agreed! He was one of my favourite characters due to same reasons
