Ramona Brooks Lyrics

Stay, stay, stay away
Stay, stay, stay away
Want you me true who said that our love was through
Did not bad(?) my best to make you worth with you
But sure end off found someone new
Now you'd back, but I don't want you
I don't want you back, (I don't want you back!)
I don't want you back, (I don't want you back!)
I don't want you back, (I don't want you back!)
I don't want you back, (I don't want you back!)
Stay, stay, stay away
Stay, stay, stay away
Now when you showed(?) the tears I have cried for years
Ain't you talk so sweet, oh, baby, I don't hear
And when you need my love you can't come up in here
You'd better learn that dear, let me make it clear
I don't want you back, (I don't want you back!)
I don't want you back, (I don't want you back!)
I don't want you back, (I don't want you back!)
I don't want you back, (I don't want you back!)
Stay, stay, stay away
Stay, stay, stay away
Now when you showed(?) the tears I have cried for years
Ain't you talk so sweet, oh, baby, I don't hear
And when you need my love you can't come up in here
You'd better learn that dear, let me make it clear
I don't want you back, (I don't want you back!)
I don't want you back, (I don't want you back!)
I don't want you back, (I don't want you back!)
I don't want you back, (I don't want you back!)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Ramona Brooks's song "I Don't Want You Back" are about a woman who has moved on from a past relationship and is now rejecting the advances of her ex-lover. The repeated refrain of "I don't want you back" emphasizes her determination to stay away from someone who has caused her pain in the past. The lyrics suggest that the ex-lover has betrayed her trust and that she has tried to make the relationship work, but ultimately found someone new. The woman is now refusing to let her ex-lover back into her life, even when he tries to apologize and win her back with sweet talk.

The lyrics are powerful in their portrayal of a person who has moved on and is standing up for herself. They convey a sense of independence, strength, and self-respect, as the woman refuses to be drawn back into a relationship that has caused her pain. The repetition and emphasis in the refrain also add to the song's impact, as they make it clear that the woman's resolve is unshakeable.
