After a while he felt that only spinning tracks from other producers just didnβt satisfy him anymore. He had a lot of ideas and creativity that he was dying to let out, so he started producing somewhere in 2003.
When he accidentally switched record bags with some guys at a gig, who happened to be the owners of a small Dutch hardstyle label called Special Records, this resulted in his first release in 2006.
Having had a taste of releasing my tracks on vinyl, he spends even more time on developing his skills and sound as a producer. After a release on the Italian label Droppin' Beats, he got into contact with Arjen and Anco Timmermans, better known as the Alphatwins. The Ran-D sound and A2-records were a perfect match.
Fight Fire With Fire

I've tried, to run and hide
Inside, myself
I've tried, to run and hide
Inside, myself
Got the heart of a lion, the eye of a tiger
Got the arms of a giant, Iron Mike fighter
We bite and we strike like some spiders
And vipers, bitch we fight fire with fire
I've tried to run and hide for way too long
Getting too comfortable, can't make it my home
A familiar place, that I want to be, that I want to see
But it holds me back and makes me too blind to see
There's a better me
That I could present to everybody
Makin' music, it's not just a hobby
Tony D, sold me this beat, sitting in his lobby
And if you're talking shit about Shuga
Oops, I'm sorry
Cause man, we got bills to pay
And it is no game, so why you stay
In the same old lane, we got shit to do
Lions to tame, we 'bout to light your ass up like a fuckin' flame
Often times, seems like I'm off the chain
Like a poltergeist
Most people can't see me, most don't even know my last name
But don't be ashamed
I came with many men with many names
Soon to be aquatinted, ornated with dames and diamond rings
Uncommon things, we call em commonplace
Round this building
There ain't nothing but Our minds to chase
Find you place, unless you choose to withdrawal
Off the scripts of Adderall, I used to take em, but now
Now all I do is spit raw, don't need no chemicals or capsules
If we go to war, I'll take this pencil into battle
Once we leave the scene, the way this story will unravel
Find you face down in the gravel, up shits creek without the paddle
Can't even fathom the thought
I've been all up in the clouds
But I ain't seen one of y'all
Still in the same damn place, at the same fuckin' bars
Spitting the same damn lyrics, to THE SAME FUCKIN SONGS
Doesn't that get old
And I ain't saying it's wrong
But you keep speaking of improvement
How the hell you climb a ladder without even fucking moving
Y'all are clueless. But I guess I'll spit hard until I'm toothless
And disregard all of these clowns saying we really out here doing this
Got the heart of a lion, the eye of a tiger
Got the arms of a giant, Iron Mike fighter
Kings of the jungle, no time to be tired
We bite and we strike like some spiders
And vipers, bitch we fight fire with fire
Hot damn! I just rolled a blunt up that shit got like five grams in it
Feel like jelly when I'm rolling, homie it's a jam
I just took my flow and sold it
Then I kind of ran with it
Everybody trippin', I don't even give a damn
I am different, from the seed I was planted, didn't plan this shit
The pain killed me, the pills, Xan's and ambiens,
But I rose like a phoenix, with the heart of a champion, uh
I was down, couldn't quit, man this can't be it
Paranoid, doing drugs, scared of panicking
Got a brand-new bitch, and she the fanciest
Ample positions man, I can't resist
I do this for my family and friends
Have you ever had your family leave in ambulances, for peace and ambience can't exist
If we stand there and SIT like some mannequins, uh
Got the heart of a lion, the eye of a tiger
Got the arms of a giant, Iron Mike fighter
Kings of the jungle, no time to be tired
We bite and we strike like some spiders
And vipers, bitch we fight fire with fire
Fire with fire, fire with fire
Yeah, fire with fire, fire with fire
Yeah, fire with fire, fire with fire
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I've tried, to run and hide
Inside, myself
Yeah, fire with fire, fire with fire
The lyrics to Ran-D's song "Fight Fire With Fire" explore the idea of temptation and the dangers that come with it. The opening lines of the song capture the scene of a son witnessing his father playing with a lighter and warning him of its dangers. It is evident that the father is attracted to the flame and the temptation to "play with fire." Later in the song, the lyrics speak more generally about the temptation to engage in risky behavior and the struggle to resist it.
The chorus "I'm just playing with the fire" seems to suggest that the singer is not fully aware of the potential consequences of their actions. They are attracted to the excitement and danger of the flame and are willing to take risks to experience it. The lyrics also explore the idea of being forged by the fire, that struggle and hardship can build strength and resilience. However, this alludes to a potential danger, where engaging in risky behavior can shape and define a person while also endangering them.
Overall, the lyrics of "Fight Fire With Fire" warn against the dangerous allure of temptation and encourage listeners to resist it. The song explores the struggle to resist temptation while acknowledging the allure of it. It ultimately suggests that the consequences of giving in to temptation outweigh any potential benefits.
