Freightline
Randall King Lyrics

Come on FreightLine, get your ass in gear
You know we got a full week of work ′round here
Won't have no problem if you listen here
So come on FreightLine, get your ass in gear

Come on FreightLine, gotta burn them wheels
You ain′t gonna stop, ain't worried 'bout meals
We′ll get some diesel and some Adderall pills
So come on FreightLine, gotta burn them wheels

There′s a woman waiting patiently
And in her sweet arms is where I really wanna be

So get on it, FreightLine, we need more speed
I gotta be in Beaumont, deadline is 3
I'll watch for Five-O if′n you'll just please
Get on it, FreightLine, we need more speed

So come on, FreightLine, don′t you understand
She's got the heart of this working man
And I′ll be trucking hard as a truckin' can
So come on, FreightLine, don't you understand

There′s a woman waiting patiently
And in her sweet arms is where I really wanna be

So come on, FreightLine
Oh get on it, FreightLine

Overall Meaning

The song Freightline by Randall King is a country song about a man who is urging the FreightLine to get moving faster so that he can reach his destination on time to be with his woman. The song opens up with the lines, “Come on FreightLine, get your ass in gear, you know we got a full week of work ‘round here” which shows the sense of urgency for the person to reach their destination. He assures that there won't be any problem "if you listen here" and asks FreightLine to “gotta burn them wheels” and they will “get some diesel and some Adderall pills”.

The lyrics continue to talk about the deadline being at 3 and that there's a woman waiting patiently for him. He pleads with FreightLine to “get on it” as he really wants to be in Beaumont and in the arms of his woman. The man emphasizes that the woman's love is what drives him and encourages FreightLine to move faster so that he can reach her faster. He appeals to FreightLine that if he manages to get him there on time, he will “trucking hard as a truckin’ can”. The song generally describes the determination of a man to reach a loved one through the power of a truck and the sense of urgency that comes with it.

Just recently discovered Randall, definitely a favorite, I dare to say if he keeps it up and stays away from Nashville he will be the next George Strait.

@greenwaldmusic9623

My guitar instructor compares him to Merle haggard cause he can jam and also slow it down and he said back when Merle done it he was told you can’t do both but he said watch me.
