Kings Fall
Raphael Saadiq Lyrics

I want you to be my

I wake up, I call the man
To see what's in the man's hands
He comes by and drops it off
To let me know how much the pills cost
I disappoint myself sometimes
'Cause I can't stop my bottom line
My kids cry, my wife's scared
My friends think I'm better off dead (be my)
My eyes roll and I'm scared
I find myself lyin' back in the bed
I'm hiding out, I keep the blinds closed
I could see witches flyin' everywhere (I want you to be my)

I could see witches flyin' everywhere (I want you to be my)
Where, where, where, where, where (I want you to be my)

The supplier, my provider, and all those things
(I want you to be my)
My provider, and supplier, and all those things, and all those things
(I want you to be my)
Even when I'm clean
I'm still a dope fiend
Everyone is always trying tell me something
I wake up, I feel things crawlin'
But nobody wants to see a strong man fallin'
(I want you to be my)
I used to be
Everybody's hero
Shakin' hands and kissing babies
Wondering what to do, Lord

Uh, uh
Now I'm wondering what to do, Lord
Hold on, hold on
Hold on, hold on

(I want you to be my)
The supplier, my provider, and all those things
(I want you to be my)
My supplier, my provider, and all those things
(I want you to be my)
The supplier, my provider, and all those things (all things happen to you)

This album is much needed. Especially in the black community. This is one of the most swept under the rug topics in our communities. Growing up in San Francisco and Oakland; both of my parents were addicts when I was growing up and I never really understood what they were going through at the time. This album gives me a more in depth incite on their struggles as addicts. Thank you Uncle Ray for creating this album

Man, anyone who has had family members who struggled with addiction can really feel this.

I watched a few of my uncles and cousins go down this road...so thankful my father never got involved in any of it. He was 100 percent solid, accountable, present, and a constant provider. Thanks dad. โœŠ๐Ÿฝ

I'm truly sorry to hear that. I pray that you and your loved ones find peace, solace, and freedom from it all. โœŒ๐ŸฝโœŠ๐Ÿฝ

One of the deepest songs I've heard in 2019. "Even though I'm clean I'm still a dope fein."

calisouthqueen

That's my favorite line in the whole song. It hurts to hear it...

So intense and so real. It's epidemic but no one wants to talk about it.
