I been in some hard times, I seen a lot of good times
I have experienced both difficulties and successes in my life.

But everyday I count my blessings this way 'cause I know that everyday's a different day.
I am grateful for my current blessings and acknowledge that every day brings something new.

I make an effort to look within myself and rely on my own strength.

But I knew there would be a day, when I had to look the other way.
I recognized that there would be times when I needed to turn away from my own instincts and trust in something outside of myself.

So I close my eyes and kept on pushin', I just kept looking and guess who showed up.
I closed my physical eyes and relied on my faith to continue pushing forward, leading me to find God.

I decided to humble myself and turn to prayer.

And never listen to no one if they can't be true to you
I choose to ignore those who are not authentic and do not have my best interests in mind.

No one should spend precious time living for material love
It is not worth it to devote one's time and energy to material possessions and superficial things.

His money, no money no money, can make me happy.
Money cannot bring true happiness in life.

Now it looks a lot clearer outside, 'cause I'm using my eyes.
My perspective on life has become clearer because I am seeing things in a new way.

My friend won't let you down, He's always been around.
God will never disappoint and has always been present.

That's one thing I know for sure.
I have complete faith in the reliability of God.

Even when I'm wrong, he's right at my door. He'll never ignore.
God is always available, even in times of my own mistakes and failures.

There is so much to express, but it cannot all be conveyed in a single day or moment.

I'll take no credit for the blessings that He's given to me. Without Him I know that Saadiq could never, ever, ever be.
I recognize that all of my blessings are from God, and without Him, I would not be who I am today.
