FULL MOON
Rare Americans Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The wolves are out
Ruby Soho shoutin′
"Cats in heat, blood on street"
All I got in this world are my own two feet

(Ding, ding)
That's not my usual phone ring
(Cling, cling)
The upside down that a message brings
(Swing, swing)
San Fermin
Nothing like I′ve ever seen

I don't wanna die, I don't wanna die
I don′t wanna be alone tonight
I don′t wanna die, I don't wanna die
I don′t wanna be alone tonight

(Ah-woo)
It's a full moon
The wolves are out
Ruby Soho shoutin′
"Cats in heat, blood on street"
All I got in this world are my own two feet
All I got in this world are my own two feet

She's burnin′ hot and bright
Howlin' in the middle of the night, night, night
I'm lookin′ in people′s eyes
Dreadin', headin′ out for supplies
No surprise, you against I
Survival instincts, the other guys
Truth lies, truth lies
A no-holds fight for a piece of the pie
Could you save you
Or would you freeze
In the lights?

I don't wanna die, I don′t wanna die
I don't wanna be alone tonight
I don′t wanna die, I don't wanna die
I don't wanna be alone tonight

(Ah-woo)
It′s a full moon
The wolves are out
Ruby Soho shoutin′
"Cats in heat, blood on street"
All I got in this world are my own two feet

All I got in this world are my own two feet
All I got in this world are my own two feet

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Rare Americans’s song “Full Moon” convey a sense of urgency and desperation, as the singer navigates through a dangerous and chaotic environment. The metaphor of the full moon and the wolves suggest a wild and unpredictable setting, where people are on edge and anything can happen. The mention of Ruby Soho, a character from the Rancid song of the same name, adds to the sense of rebellion and danger.

The repeated lines “I don't wanna die, I don't wanna be alone tonight” express a fear of both physical and emotional isolation. The singer is aware that they are vulnerable and exposed in this environment, and they long for connection and safety. The reference to San Fermin, a festival in Spain known for its running of the bulls, adds to the themes of danger and adrenaline.

The final lines of the song, “All I got in this world are my own two feet,” suggest a self-reliance and resilience in the face of adversity. Despite the chaos and danger around them, the singer remains determined to survive and keep moving forward.

I support, I miss the old style of rare Americans, there are enough good songs in the 3rd album, but there were more of them in the second, even if my opinion is very subjective, but this band once pushed me to play guitar

MrFoxyyy
