History: Rascal Flatts were founded near Columbus, Ohio. Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus were second cousins from a musical family. DeMarcus's brother-in-law, James Otto, is also a country music artist. DeMarcus moved to Nashville in 1992, earning his first record deal as part of a Christian group called East to West. In 1997, he finally convinced LeVox to leave behind his job with the Ohio Department of Mental Retardation and follow his musical dreams as well.
DeMarcus soon joined Chely Wright's band, and there he met Joe Don Rooney. DeMarcus and LeVox were working in a Printer's Alley nightclub, and when their part-time guitarist could not make it one night, DeMarcus invited Rooney to sit in. Eventually, they took the name Rascal Flatts and began performing together, getting signed to Lyric Street Records in late 1999.
The band was recently announced that they have celebrated 10 years of being one of the hottest country bands of the decade. On January 7, 2020, Rascal Flatts announced that they would be disbanding following a farewell tour after twenty years together. However, this farewell tour was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic; the group's disbandment was officially confirmed in October 2021.

Cause you never fell man's heart before
Now there's nothing in this world you want more
Then to be free
And you're lost somewhere, you swore you'd never go
And the way back looks like a dead end road
But with one step, one breath, one smile at a time
Let me get you out of here
Wipe away all your tears
Now you're safe in these arms of mine
I won't ever let you down
Your heart will start to come around
We're gonna change your life
One sunrise at a time
Well, you can't get rid of all his lies
Thinkin' 'bout him all the time
Can I be the reason you've got nothin' on your mind
Oh, let me get you out of here
Wipe away all your tears
Now you're safe in these arms of mine
I won't ever let you down
Your heart will start to come around
We gonna change your life
One sunrise at a time
Let me hold you tight
All through the night
Till you awake
Till all this pain
Is gone with yesterday
Gone with yesterday
Oh, let me get you out of here
Oh, I won't ever let you down
Your heart will start to come around
We gonna change your life
One sunrise at a time
Oh, one sunrise
At a time
The lyrics to Rascal Flatts's song Sunrise talk about a person who is going through a tough time. The person is heartbroken due to a failed romance and is finding it difficult to move on. The song acknowledges the pain and emotional turmoil that the person is experiencing and offers to be with them every step of the way. The song suggests that it is possible to overcome heartbreak by taking small steps towards recovery, one sunrise at a time.
The lyrics specifically call out the difficulty of eating or sleeping while going through heartbreak. It also acknowledges that the person is lost and doesn't know what to do next, and the way back seems like a dead end road. But the song offers hope by saying that with one step, one breath, one smile at a time, the person can start to heal. The chorus reinforces this message by saying that the journey towards recovery will be slow and difficult but is worth it in the end. The song promises that the person won't be let down and their heart will start to come around.
Overall, the lyrics to Sunrise by Rascal Flatts offer a message of hope and encourage listeners going through a tough time to take small steps towards recovery.
