As of 2007, Joey Bishop is the only male member of the Rat Pack who is still alive.
2) In 1984, RAT PACK singer/founder Matt Ratt was covering the vocal duties for Rich Kids on LSD, while singer Jason Sears was away on "medical leave". During this time Rich Kids on LSD was signed on to record for the now infamous"NARDCORE" album on Mystic Records. Just prior to recording, Jason returned from his leave of absense. So left with the dilema of an album to record, and suddenly no band, Matt was told to throw something together quickly and record for the album anyway. So after a few rehearsals with Chris Rest and Alpo D.(borrowed from Rich Kids on LSD) Dave Casillas from STALAG 13 and Mike Torres from NARTHEX STRUCTURE, RAT PACK was born! Although originaly only meant to be a recording project for the NARDCORE album, RAT PACK ended up doing three records for Mystic, 1985's self titled 7", 1987's "Ice Cream Acid and Cigarettes" 7" and 1990's self titled full length Lp. Through the years RAT PACK has gone through long periods of hibernation, with many line up changes...people that have played in and recorded with RAT PACK include current and former members of bands such as NOFX, SOCIAL DISTORTION, STALAG 13, ADOLESCENTS, D.I., SUGAR CULT, HOLLYWOOD HATE, FOO FIGHTERS, Rubber Neck, LAGWAGON, Rich Kids on LSD, NO USE FOR A NAME, and ME FIRST AND THE GIMME GIMMES.
Standing on the Corner
Rat Pack Lyrics

Standing on a corner watching all the girls go by
Brother you don't know a nicer occupation
Matter of fact, neither do I
Than standing on a corner watching all the girls
Watching all the girls, watching all the girls go by
I'm the cat that got the cream
Haven't got a girl but I can wish
So I'll take me down to Main street
And that's where I select my imaginary dish
Standing on a corner watching all the girls go by
Standing on a corner giving all the girls the eye
Brother if you've got a rich imagination
Give it a whirl, give it a try
Try standing on a corner watching all the girls
Watching all the girls, watching all the girls go by
Brother you can't go to jail for what you're thinking
Or for that woo look in your eye
Standing on the corner watching all the girls
Watching all the girls, watching all the girls go by
In Rat Pack's "Standing On The Corner," the lyrics capture the essence of simple pleasures and the idea of idle observation. The singer finds joy and contentment in the seemingly mundane act of standing on a corner and watching all the girls go by. This act becomes a form of entertainment and a way to appreciate the beauty of the world around them. The repetition of the line "Standing on a corner watching all the girls go by" emphasizes the hypnotic and almost meditative quality of this activity.
The lyrics also touch on the idea of imagination and fantasy. The singer acknowledges that they may not have a romantic partner in reality, but they can still dream and wish for one. The line "So I'll take me down to Main street and that's where I select my imaginary dish" illustrates the singer's ability to create a world of their own where they can indulge in fantasies and desires, even if only in their mind.
There is a playful and mischievous tone in the lyrics as the singer admits to giving all the girls the eye and enjoying the act of observing them. The song suggests that there is no harm in indulging in harmless fantasies and appreciating the beauty of others from a distance. The lyrics encourage embracing one's imagination and allowing oneself the simple pleasure of watching the world go by.
The final lines of the song touch on the idea of freedom of thought and expression. The singer acknowledges that one cannot be punished for their thoughts or the way they look at others. This suggests a sense of liberation in allowing oneself to freely observe and appreciate the world around them without fear of judgment or consequences. Overall, "Standing On The Corner" celebrates the joy of simple pleasures, the power of imagination, and the freedom to observe and appreciate beauty in the world.

When I was 15 in 1994 a small, but rough, town in Norfolk called Thetford held a U-16 rave called Hyperdance in the local sports hall. It was only about an 8th full. But Ratpack played for a fraction of their normal fee. I lived for the scene then, my bedroom was literally wallpapered with fliers. They played a wicked long set and were incredible. At the end when everyone was leaving I went to the toilet and saw the youth ventre organiser and in my ecstasy fuelled state thanked her for organising it......and in the corner chilling out were some blackblokes with dreads, a rare sight in a small Norfolk town.....then it dawned on me ...IT WAS THE RATPACK, I asked the youth worker if I could talk to them, she said yes. As a skinny naive 15 year old white boy, who got intimidated just getting fliers from record shops, I was very intimdated they were all well built smoking weed which was rare then cos all you could get was hash back then. But I went up to them and praised them on their wicked live set, and they pulled up a chair for me, and each one took the time to sign my Fantazia top. Lovely blokes, found it hilarious talking to this twitching little 15 year old with rolling eyes and a stuckout jaw. They inspired me to start Djing, Inever made it big, but was a good and respected techno DJ whoused to play at all the illegals in Norfolk after Hardcore evolved intojungle, then D and B. Cos Norfolkis reallyrural with no clubs raves were held in mainly marquees in fields, barn,or the beach, and occassionally unused warehouses in Norwich.
