Their combination of indie pop songwriting and energetic punk-style guitar won them fans from both the indie and skate-punk communities.

Ratcat formed in 1986 in Sydney and were a mainstay of that city's live music scene until they were eventually signed to Waterfront Records where they released a self-titled EP, several singles ("I Think I Love You", "Baby's Got A Gun") and their debut album, This Nightmare in 1989. Another EP, Killing Joke, and another single, "Saying Goodbye" followed.

In 1990, the band signed to the rooArt label. Their first release for their new label was a 6-track EP called Tingles. A combination of budget pricing and catchy A-side "That Aint Bad" saw the Tingles EP reach #1 on ARIA's alternative charts, and shortly afterwards, the top of the Australian national chart. The band's subsequent album, Blind Love and the singles "Don't Go Now" both reached #1. Their next single "Baby Baby" and a follow-up album Insideout sold well, but not to the extent of their previous successes. The band sporadically played live shows over the next few years and released another album Easyrider in 1997.

Ratcat reformed in 1998 to play at the Homebake Festival with new bassist Nic Dalton (formerly of The Lemonheads) and again in 2006 to play a support slot on the Psychedelic Furs Australian tour.

9 Haunted Days why does it matter to you though? If that's what they want to call their pets leave them be. I'm also aware multiple people have called their rats Remy or Emile and it may be unoriginal but I DO think it's cute and it really suits my boys. You're welcome to think the names aren't cute by any means, however you don't need to express it in that way. It works exactly the same with people's names, yet do you convey your opinions that way to them? It's a choice we as individuals should be allowed to make without being insulted for it.

One day I saw a white mouse running down the sidewalk - I don't know where the hell she came from. I immediately panicked because I knew I had to rescue her. My friend was with me. She picked the mouse up, we drove straight to PetCo, got her all the supplies and she was nothing but a joy and delight for a year and a half. Smart, independent, super neat, and loving. A real gem, which is why I named her Sophie Pearl. To this day, I miss her. A great pet for someone who is pretty independent themselves. You HAVE to clean their little cage once a week; it's important for their health, but other than that, a complete joy to have. Do not underestimate a mouse or a rat. All creatures great and small.

White animals of all sorts appear in nature regardless of the specie's typical coloring. Are you familiar with the term albino? Well guess what! This occurs in nature. I always thought rats are really cool, intelligent, they can survive almost anywhere, and they make friendly pets. I had a few and whenever I heard them running in their wheel at night the first few times it annoyed me but later it always made me smile. It's cute background noise knowing they're having fun. Each time I cleaned their cage they got all excited building their "bedroom" and their "storage room", they had a distinct place for everything, they were very organised, also very curious and smart.

Rats are awesome pets. They break your heart when they pass away though... even if you’re a grown man like me. My baby boy morgan lived a happy and full 3.5 years with me. His little brother passed away from sadness a week after. He was around 1.5 years. Morgan and lancelot will always have a special place in my heart.

Marta Gilewska depends on how they are brought up. Mine only went into their cage during the night and toilet breaks otherwise they hung out on me, snuggled and hidden in my long sleeve top or pocket and had free run of my room. At lunch time I could have them on the grass where we sat at and they would run around but always came back to me when called, never went far from me. But yes it can be dangerous to have them outside and stressful in the wrong environment.
I now have a dog and she’s exactly the same, goes everywhere with me, don’t leash her, a very close bond.

I recently adopted 3 juvenile boy rats, one of which was born with absolutely no eyes. They're not afraid of my cats at all, especially little eyeless Georgie. He's an avid groomer, always licking me as soon as I get him out to play. He does the same to my cats, grooming the fur on their tails and attempting to do the same to their noses and ears. I think that being born with no sight makes him think that all the huge creatures around him are the exact same as him, therefore he's basically fearless lmao

I have seen more videos of animals that act outside of their stereotypical roles. This is a great example.

The kittens will really benefit from grooming and caring, no matter what the animal. Rats are social so this is great for them to be a part of a larger group and get love and cuddles back. A win/win situation. Very beautiful.

I suffer from asthma and I'm allergic to cats, so I couldn't go into that kind of place. But I still think this cat cafe is a wonderful place. What a lovely service these humans are doing for the cats and customers alike. And let's not forget the cute little nanny rats ❤️

Rats are awfully smart. They're very sympathetic too, I've seen a video where the rat had the choice between food or helping another rat, they chose to help before eating. They're also very clean and friendly, probably smarter than most pets. I've seen rats who know tons of tricks like opening doors and sorting trash. They're totally underrated pets

I've never been as attached to any pet as I was to our two rats. One of mine found a ticklish spot on my neck and would deliberately tickle me with kisses. After that, I learned research had shown rats love tickling either and being tickled. It was unexpectedly difficult for us when they died. If they weren't so short lived, I'd get more!

This is only the half truth. Sure, rats can rescue a pal in danger but only if they have positive connections with each other. When the opposite is the case they will ignore the other rat completely

smi Lee I think your Environment is the reason why you fear them in the first place because it's unnoticely imprinting you from child's age on what to like and what to be afraid off. That's why it's possible that people are afraid of animals who are more or less harmless due to bad experiences in the childhood

I found a little black kitten who is missing her back feet. She tested positive for feluke. Very often kittens who have contracted the virus will die within a year when she tested positive the vet told me to euthanize her... I said absolutely not and left with her.

That was 4 months ago and shes turning 9 months. Shes healthy as an ox and getting special shots once a month. Every day my heart sinks thinking one day, much sooner than I should have to... I may need to hold her as she takes her last breath. Shes so worth the struggle.

Rats are the most compassionate animals I've ever kept. I love my cat and two dogs they have amazing personalities, but my rat Pippin was so different. His personally was entirely selfless and supportive. He wasn't trained to be a therapy companion but that's exactly what he ended up being. He would check on how I was doing just as much as I was caring for him. It was the first time I ever felt like an animal was taking care of me instead of the usual other way round. I wish more people knew what amazing animals rats are.

Always have loved cats. We have these recluse spiders in Mexico that actually let you touch them. They are adorable and eat unwanted bugs in the house. Oh, God's creatures are lovely!

I have rats and one ow them is old and not as tame as the others but sometimes he will grab the baby rats and just clean them

So glad to see rats getting a good press for once. I have kept a lot of different caged pets over the years and can honestly say that rats are the best by far. They are affectionate, playful, inquisitive, really good fun, and can learn to do activities. There are also a wide range of lovely colours to be found from specialist breeders, or you can obtain them from rescue centres that have rats, as well as pet shops. If you're on the fence about a caged pet, please consider a rat, you'll be glad you did !

Growing up, my sibling also had a variety of pet rodents, and the rats really were the smartest, and just about the longest lived as well. The only downside is that they've got all the pep and personality of any cat or dog, so it hurts just as much when they go... and they go so fast.

They were so funny and cozy and sweet and smart. But I didn't keep them in a cage very often after I tamed them...You have to be willing to spend a lot of time on them and/or keep their cage door open.

its probably because as cute as this is, its still endangering to house predator and prey, and rats shouldnt be kept in tank like enclosures due to sensitive respiratory systems.

I had several pet rats when I was younger. I adored them. So smart and loving. A bunch of animals can be adorable companions. Birds, mammals, reptiles, fishes. Insects. Any animal can be a nice friend to you. Just treat them well and they will repay you with loyalty and truthfulness
