Take Me Home
Ratt Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Just have little patients, here's how the story goes
I'll tell ya little something, that's all you need to know
Now's the time for me, I gotta get away
I wish ya coulda stayed, I'll find another way

Please, take me home
Just were I aught to be
No questions known
If you leave me now, a warm embrace
No one here will ever take my place

Another little secret, I thought you need to know
Your always in my heart, your always in my soul
Now's the time for me, I gotta make ya free
And how I need ya so, just thought I'd let you know

Please, take me home
Just were I aught to be
No questions known
If you leave me now, a warm embrace
No one here will ever take my place
NOW's the time, to hold you close
To live your dreams and never let you go

You take me home
You take me home
YEAH!
Take me home
TAKE ME!

LEAD

Please, take me home
Just were I aught to be
No questions known
Please, take me home
Please, take me home
Just were I aught to be
No questions known
If you leave me now, a warm embrace
No one here will ever take my place
NOW's the time, to hold you close
To live your dreams and never let you go

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Ratt's song "Take Me Home" talk about a relationship that has gone awry and the singer wishing to rectify it. They describe someone who is trying to make amends and seeking to be taken back by their partner, whom they deeply miss. The verse "just have little patience, here's how the story goes, I'll tell you a little something that's all you need to know" can be interpreted as the singer trying to explain why they acted in certain ways, and asking for their partner to hear them out. The chorus of the song emphasizes the singer's desire to be home, where they belong, and a longing for their partner to take them there. The phrase "no questions known" may indicate the desire for the relationship to continue without any further questioning or challenges.

The second verse of the song includes the line "another little secret, I thought you need to know, you're always in my heart, you're always in my soul." Here, the singer is trying to express that despite any difficulties, their partner has a permanent place in their heart and soul, and they can't seem to let go of them. The bridge of the song tells the partner to hold them close and to never let them go. Overall, the song is an emotional plea for the partner to take the singer back and to return to the happiness they once knew.

Sounding absolutely incredible..touches home in many ways ...old school always makes me smile

@jeffkressner5675

One of the best guitar solos recorded at the end of this song. Warren Dimartini brings it big time. His tone is similar to George Lynch and they are both monsters on guitar.

@styllmusic

@poisonousy

I sure hope you are okay, Warren
You too, Stephen.
Bring it back, please

@Eddie-In-Las-Vegas

@@VerticeAlto Well then they need to bring Beau Hill back as producer if they reunite minus Robin of course. Hill really was the magical silent member that gave Ratt that Ratt'N'Roll vibe, he was and is the only guy that could record Stephen's voice well and he captured the band on vinyl really well that even decades after those first 3 albums have held up to the test of time
