Ray Charles Lyrics

(Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more.)
(Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.)
What you say?
(Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more, no more, no more, no more.)
(Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more.)

Woah Woman, oh woman, don't treat me so mean,
You're the meanest old woman that I've ever seen.
I guess if you said so
I'd have to pack my things and go. (That's right)

Now baby, listen baby, don't ya treat me this-a way
Cause I'll be back on my feet some day.
(Don't care if you do 'cause it's understood)
(you ain't got no money you just ain't no good.)
Well, I guess if you say so
I'd have to pack my things and go. (That's right)

Well
(Don't you come back no more.)
Uh, what you say?
(Don't you come back no more.)
I didn't understand you
(Don't you come back no more.)
You can't mean that
(Don't you come back no more.)
Oh, now baby, please
(Don't you come back no more.)
What you tryin' to do to me?
(Don't you come back no more.)

Oh, don't treat me like that
(Don't you come back no more.)

Overall Meaning

The song "Hit the Road Jack" by Ray Charles is an upbeat and humorous tune that tells the story of a man pleading with his woman to treat him right, even though she is the meanest woman he has ever seen. He acknowledges that she has the power to make him leave at any time, but he still asks for a little kindness. However, in the end, he sings that if she wants him to go, he'll hit the road and never come back. The refrain, "Hit the road Jack and don't you come back no more," is catchy and emphasizes the man's need to leave the relationship if his woman cannot treat him with respect.

The lyrics are essentially a call-and-response between the man and his woman. Ray Charles sings as the man and the background vocals sing as the woman. The dynamics of the song keep it interesting and engaging. The woman's responses emphasize the man's position, leaving the listener to empathize with the man and his plight.

Overall, "Hit the Road Jack" is a song about a man who is not afraid to leave a toxic relationship. The upbeat rhythm and catchy melody make it a timeless classic, and Ray Charles's soulful voice adds depth and emotion to the lyrics.

100% Facts, the 1900’s music is bomb! Now music is either extremely inappropriate or really annoying, or like techno music, lots of rapping (rapping is great ngl), and there’s also like these pop songs that are okay, but like- 1900’s music hits different.
