I Can't Stop Loving You
Ray Charles Lyrics
(I can't stop loving you)
I've made up my mind
To live in memory of the lonesome times
(I can't stop wanting you)
It's useless to say
So I'll just live my life in dreams of yesterday
(Dreams of yesterday)
Those happy hours that we once knew
Tho' long ago, they still make me blue
But time has stood still since we've been apart
(I can't stop loving you)
I've made up my mind
To live in memories of the lonesome times
(I can't stop wanting you)
It's useless to say
So I'll just live my life in dreams of yesterday
(Those happy hours)
Those happy hours
(That we once knew)
That we once knew
(Tho' long ago)
Tho' long ago
(Still make me blue)
Still make me blue
(They say that time)
They say that time
(Heals a broken heart)
Heals a broken heart
(But time has stood still)
Time has stood still
(Since we've been apart)
Since we've been apart
(I can't stop loving you)
I said I made up my mind
To live in memory of the lonesome times
(I can't stop wanting you)
It's useless to say
So I'll just live my life of dreams of yesterday
(Of yesterday)

LYRICS
(I can't stop loving you)
I've made up my mind
To live in memory of the lonesome times
(I can't stop wanting you)
It's useless to say
So I'll just live my life in dreams of yesterday
(Dreams of yesterday)
Those happy hours that we once knew
Tho' long ago, they still make me blue
They say that time heals a broken heart
But time has stood still since we've been apart
(I can't stop loving you)
I've made up my mind
To live in memory of the lonesome times
(I can't stop wanting you)
It's useless to say
So I'll just live my life in dreams of yesterday
(Those happy hours)
Those happy hours
(That we once knew)
That we once knew
(Tho' long ago)
Tho' long ago
(Still make me blue)
Still ma-a-a-ake me blue
(They say that time)
They say that time
(Heals a broken heart)
Heals a broken heart
(But time has stood still)
Time has stood still
(Since we've been apart)
Since we've been apart
(I can't stop loving you)
I said I made up my mind
To live in memory of the lonesome times
(I can't stop wanting you)
It's useless to say
So I'll just live my life of dreams of yesterday
(Of yesterday)

As I listen to this on August 31, 2020.....
America, and indeed the world, is in severe turmoil.
The first time I heard this gem of a song was as a kid in the 1960s.....America had her problems to be sure, but I didn't understand......I still don't understand. Thanks to my parents and my grandparents for introducing me to the vast musical library that the world has to offer.
The record player in our house played Ray Charles and Eddie Arnold.....Lawrence Welk and Nat King Cole......The Sons of the Pioneers and The Jackson 5.....
Even popular music from the WWI and WWII era.
The song that my parents called 'their song' is Sukiyaki by Kyu Sakamoto it hit the top of the American Billboard chart in June of 1963, the month they were married.
Rest in peace mom and dad. We kids miss you both.
And the 1970s AM and FM radio airwaves were a veritable cornucopia of musical styles and genres.
These were and are all fellow human beings who use their talents to Bless us everyday! And I feel so blessed to have this tie to the rest of you, my fellow human beings, through this world of music.

Before my husband died I asked him to send me signs that he was in heaven. I was driving to work one day and my truck smelled like I had brewed coffee in it. I don't drink coffee, but he did. And then this song came on the radio. He loved Ray Charles. I bawled my eye's out all the way to work.
