Please let me hold you one more time
Before you walk away my, dear
Please let me hold you near
I love you dear
So let me kiss you one more time
I know I'm gonna miss you so
My darling when, you go
I'll miss you so so
So let me stay my dear
For just another moment or two
Then I'll have
The memory of you
To see me though so
So let me hold you one more time
And let me kiss you one more
That's all I'll ever ask of you
Unless you say that you
Still love me too
For maybe one more time (one more)
Is all I need (one more)
Just one more time (one more)
And maybe you will see that I’m (one more)
Your one and only love
Let me stay for just another moment
A moment a, moment or two
Then I'll have the memory of you
To see me through
To see me through
To see me through
So let me hold you one more time
And let me kiss you one more time
That's all I'll ever ask of you
Unless you say that you
Still love me too
For maybe one more time (one more)
Is all I need (one more)
Just one more time (one more)
And maybe you will see that I’m
Your one and only love (your love)
Your one and only love (your love)
Your one and only love (your love)
One more time
The Ray Charles Singers' song "One More Time" is a heart-wrenching ballad about a lover hoping for one last chance to hold and kiss their significant other. The lyrics express a deep sense of love and longing, as the singer pleads for just a few more moments to cherish before being separated from their beloved.
The song begins with the singer asking their lover to stay for a little longer, as they are about to walk away. They confess their love and the fear of missing them. The chorus repeats the phrase "one more time," emphasizing the singer's desperation to hold and kiss their lover. They hope that maybe if they can have another chance, their significant other will see that they are the only one for them.
The last verse of "One More Time" culminates in a powerful plea for the opportunity to hold and kiss their lover one last time. The singer begs for this chance, declaring that it is all they will ever ask for unless their love is reciprocated. The final repetition of "your one and only love" symbolizes the commitment and devotion of the singer to their beloved.

Thanks so much for posting this ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL SONG from late 1964. Although the song only reached No. 32 on the Billboard charts, it is The Ray Charles Singers at their best. And the use of an organ as part of the backup instrumentals provides a nice touch.

I thought I would never hear this song again. It was mom's favorite at the time. Back in the 60's, my mom and her sister would sing this song on Christmas Eve. It brings back great memories of my childhood. Thanks for posting it.

Oh, the Bossa Nova beat. Without a doubt one of the greatest choral groups of all time. But then, look at who was their maestro.

Beautiful, forgotten song...my brother used to talk about how often "One More Time" was played on juke boxes at night spots when he was a sophomore at the University of Detroit -- very popular and underrated vocal...

Charles Raymond Offenberg (born September 13, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois in the U.S.) is the Ray Charles behind the Ray Charles Singers. As of late-January 2013, this Ray Charles is still living at the age of 94. Should NOT be confused with Ray Charles Robinson (September 23, 1930-June 10, 2004), the OTHER Ray Charles.
