Harmony
Ray Conniff Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

The time has come, let us begin
With all our voices joining in
To sing of love and brotherhood
People doing what they should to
Help there fellow man decree
And fill this land with harmony
The young and old, the rich, the poor
Making sounds, never heard before

Harmony! Harmony!
Let's all join in harmony
Sing away the hurt and fear
A great new dream will soon be here

Like the shepherd guards his sheep
Watch your children as they sleep
Like the potter turns his clay

Help to shape a better day, and
Let us sing a song of love
There's one thing I'm certain of
Love will fill the hearts of men
Peace will come on earth once again

Harmony! Harmony!
Let's all join in harmony
Sing away the hurt and fear
A great new dream will soon be here

Harmony! Harmony!
Let's all join in harmony
Sing of love, and brotherhood
And people doing what they should

Harmony! Harmony!
Let's all join in harmony

THIS SHOULD HAVE READ:

What a delight to hear the melodies and understand the lyrics of The
Singers' timeless, classy music this 2017, especially in this age of the
particularly raucous music assaulting many American ears. Songs are no
longer just "listened to"; in this generation of listeners, songs are
"viewed" to the accompaniment of overwhelming visual pyrotechnics that
suffuse and suffocate the singer's voice-quality--and lyrics. The
younger crowd, though, understands ever last word. Amazing. Those of us
from the Rock-and-Roll age, well . . . we have to work a little more
on deciphering the piece.

That Soprano section is nailing this song to the WALL.

I grew up listening to Ray Conniff. Even when I was too small to stand, I would sit in front of my mothers huge oak stereo and listen while lost in the glow of the electron tubes in the back. When the album would end, I would sit there and cry until my mother would start the album over. I think Ray Conniff is just as good as it can possibly get. . .

I am so blessed to have this opportunity listening to the songs of Ray Conniff and the Singers. This is the favorite song of my beloved papa. It also reminds me of my hometown. Ann Cabigas, Philippines.

It's been forever since hearing this song done by anyone. It's so pretty and forever timeless, and right now the title and theme are a definite idea we all need to keep us together as we work and hope and pray ourselves forward into better times against this thing called Corona Virus. ...Harmony, everyone! ...And God Bless Everyone Everywhere Always.

These songs keep me feeling young and happy. They help me forget all the corruption, troubles and worries the world brings to us every day. I just sit back and listen and drift back to the more peaceful times we had in the years gone by. Try it---You'll like it.
