In 1997, Wilson joined Genesis following the departure of former vocalist and drummer Phil Collins. Genesis went on hiatus after one album, Calling All Stations, and a tour with Wilson.
Wilson went on to record a solo project called Cut_, which he has described as sounding the way the next Genesis might have sounded had the band attempted a second album with him. The album Millionairhead was released under this name.
In 2003 he released a solo album under his own name titled Change. The next year he released another studio album entitled The Next Best Thing, which included a cover of "Inside". He is currently working on a second Stiltskin album.
DJ and trance producer Armin van Buuren has produced remixes of the songs "Another Day" (retitled "Yet Another Day") and "Gypsy" from Millionairhead. Both remixes have been released on van Buuren's own albums, and "Yet Another Day" was also released as a single.
Take It Slow
Ray Wilson Lyrics

Isn't always what you need
The fear I express in what I write
In such a way as to believe it
I hope you know I mean it when I say take it slow
Why? cause you need to feel it in your soul
So take it slow man
Sometimes in a different state of mind
I seem to feel things more
It's no lie, that given space and time
All the pieces fall, into place
I hope you know I mean it when I say take it slow
Why? cause you need to feel it in your soul
Take it slow
You'll have everything you want
Real life feeling
All you want, all you need
Freedom
I hope you know I mean it when I say take it slow
Why? cause you need to feel it in your soul
So take it slow
The lyrics of "Take It Slow" by Ray Wilson express the idea that life is not always easy, and that sometimes we may feel fear and uncertainty. The singer of the song acknowledges that he expresses these feelings in his writing, and suggests that taking things slow can help us find clarity and understanding. He encourages listeners to feel the emotions deeply and find freedom in the process.
The opening lines ("Real life isn't always what you want / Isn't always what you need") suggest that there are often gaps between our desires and reality. Although we may wish for things to be a certain way, we don't always get what we want. This creates a sense of fear and frustration, which the singer channels into his writing. He believes that by expressing these emotions, he can come to a deeper understanding of himself and the world around him.
The chorus ("I hope you know I mean it when I say take it slow / Why? 'Cause you need to feel it in your soul") encourages listeners to slow down and take time to process their emotions. Rather than rushing through life or trying to suppress difficult feelings, the singer suggests that we need to feel our emotions deeply in order to find meaning and understanding. By doing so, we can eventually reach a state of freedom and fulfillment.
Overall, "Take It Slow" is a thoughtful and introspective song that encourages listeners to embrace their emotions and take things at their own pace. It suggests that life can be difficult, but that we can find meaning and fulfillment by honoring our feelings and taking time to connect with our inner selves.

I need to admit, I never thought he was for Genesis but that means absolutely nothing because he is a fantastic musician with a voice that makes you shiver. Beautiful.
