Nightmare #2
Reaction 7 Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's hard to breathe so the spiders say
Who is that there in the corner crouched
I look and she pulls herself inside out
Spinning and dancing and screaming so loud
I'm iridescent in front of the crowd
But they're all laughing can't figure it out
Ask me where have I been
Don't know can't find a friend
Can't seem to find that door
Get out while it's before
The sun is now gleaming right off of the dew
I'm one of the followers there's only a few
We come to a jetty it's right by the sea
Now all of them turn and they're staring at me
I'm catching a chill as my eyes start to bleed
I think that they're helping and feeling my need
I watch as a butterfly falls to the ground
That's spinning and spinning and turning around
Nightmare
Would you like to join in my nightmare
Have a little pain in my nightmare
Watch the airplane crash in my nightmare
Meet some nasty friends in my nightmare
Watch the bullets fly in my nightmare
Have a fatal fall in my nightmare
The lyrics of "Nightmare #2" by Reaction 7 explore the feeling of being lost and disoriented, both physically and mentally. The opening lines refer to the sensation of being "spun round" and unable to find one's way, as though one is caught in a web of confusion. The metaphor of spiders and difficulty breathing adds to the sense of fear and suffocation, while the image of someone crouching in the corner and "pulling herself inside out" suggests a state of extreme psychological distress.
The next lines introduce another image of spinning, this time in relation to dancing and performing in front of a crowd. However, the singer is unable to make sense of the audience's reaction, which is one of laughter rather than applause or appreciation. This leads to a sense of disillusionment and disorientation, as the world seems to be turning around and around without any discernible purpose or meaning. The sense of being lost continues in the third verse, with references to not being able to find friends or a way out of a difficult situation.
The chorus of the song then presents a series of disturbing and violent images, which reflect the sense of being trapped in a nightmare. The repetition of the word "nightmare" emphasizes the idea that this is not just a collection of random experiences but a coherent and terrifying dreamscape. The invitation to "join in" suggests that the singer is not alone in this nightmare but is surrounded by other people who are also experiencing the same sense of fear and confusion.
Overall, "Nightmare #2" is a powerful portrayal of the sensation of being caught in a dreamlike state where everything is strange and disorienting. The use of vivid imagery and metaphor creates a haunting atmosphere, and the repeated references to spinning and turning add to the sense of being trapped in an endless cycle of confusion and fear.

Tyrone, every time you buy a type of ammo, the cost goes up. That's why you ran out of scraps by the end. Switching between ammo types raises the price more slowly. So use multiple guns.

You beat the main game. I've only beaten the main game and Chris Redfield's DLC "Not A Hero", but never personally played any of the other DLCs after Redfield's story. Congrats on your accomplishments so far. Looking forward to your game review.

He will never beat this.
