The debut album, 2001's Bold, was released under the moniker Readymade and followed a pair of earlier EPs for French label F Communications. The record features guest appearances from Sylvian as well as Juice Aleem and encompasses elements of dark downtempo, quirky house, and minimal techno.
Babilonia followed on London label Peacefrog in 2005, and added baroque pop and folk stylings. Vocal contributions come from Feist, Sylvian, and Yael Naïm.

How I can count off the hours
Maybe I could be the sonar
Reading all all the sound
Ba bada ba bada di
Winter is so hollow
His teeth are getting sharper
On a shoulder blaze
Ba ada ba ada da
That is not supposed to keep you warm
It hasn't turned to night
But still a great time
And in the empty months
Of me in good light
And I was in a shuttered room
And living in the movie
Alone inside the story
Waiting for two to be you
Ba bada ba bada, and me
That is not supposed to keep you warm
Baby I was with you all of the years
It could be a fire on the snow
I will always think of
How, how to count off the hours
I could be the sonar
Reading all of the sound
Bada ba bada da do
Winter is so hollow
In the month of snow lion
His teeth are getting sharper
On a shoulder blaze
Badu ba badu da du
Winter is so hollow
The song "Snow Lion" by Readymade FC is a beautiful and poetic expression of the artist's emotional and psychological state, conveyed through vivid imagery and metaphors. The song starts with the singer contemplating the passing of time and how he could count off the hours, maybe like a sonar, reading all the sounds around him. The following verse speaks of the winter season which feels so hollow, particularly during the month of the Snow Lion - a reference to the Tibetan calendar which divides the year into 12 animal signs, with the Snow Lion being the symbol of winter.
The Snow Lion's teeth are getting sharper on a shoulder blaze, which could be interpreted as a metaphor for the harshness of winter weather on our bodies, and in a broader sense, the difficulties and challenges we face in life that make us stronger. The chorus brings back the theme of time and the singer's inability to keep warm, despite the winter being so hollow. The second verse describes the artist's experience of being alone in a shuttered room, living in a movie and waiting for two to be you, which could be a reference to the feeling of loneliness and disconnection from reality.
Ultimately, the song's message appears to be one of hope and resilience in the face of adversity. The harshness of winter and the passing of time are forces that we cannot control, but we can find meaning and beauty in the struggle. The Snow Lion becomes a symbol of strength and courage, a reminder that we can survive even in the harshest of conditions.
