I Had a Heart
Real Friends Lyrics

I walk on this frozen lake,
Hoping to hit a spot that's weaker than I was,
A year a half ago.
I remember how Christmas used to be,
Before she spat me out.
And left me to roam this empty place.

If I ran to the city sub lights, I'd still feel dull and worn out.
It's time to start over and move on.
My grandma keeps going on about the New Year
She says "you can't miss what you forget."

I'll spend the night slamming doors,
Smoking outside my grandparents house.
I thought Christmas was the time for us to feel loved.

I feel like no one understands me anymore.
Nothing is how it was last year.
But it's cold and lonely, just like before.

It's time to start over and move on.
My grandma keeps going on about the New Year.
She says "you can't miss what you forget."

I'll sit and wonder who she loves instead of me.
If she told me who it was,
I'm afraid it would rip my heart out
For my family to see.
At least they'd know I had a heart.

This has to be the saddest Christmas song ever. Great job Real Friends.

No bony knees and sleepy eyes?

Elyon

I like the song and all, but that has to be some of the worst woodworking I have ever seen.

Magical Mystery Mike

I'm glad it wasn't just me.  Dude was workin' it!  I couldn't wait to see what he was putting all that effort into, only to be disappointed.

Intergalactic Love Child

He doesn't have the heart for woodworking anymore man.

Rapid Fireman

I requested this song on the radio since they were accepting request and they played it and it made my night <3

Who cares what stupid and divisive label that's put on music...Good music is good music, there's nothing wrong with poppy and emotional music. I've been into punk since the mid-80s and have seen it evolve and expand over the last 30 years. Differences aside, every genre and sub-genre has good and bad bands/albums/songs, almost always a matter of acquired taste.

That said, this is one of my favorite Christmas song collections, I've been listening to it annually for years.
