Get me out of here
You're the chosen one
And I believe
I saw you sleeping under skies so clear
You're the broken glass under my feet
And I can see the light
Tell me can you see the light
These open skies
These open skies
Wanne take me to you
Up here is freedom
From a world so blind
We're disappearing from who we are
We found a reason
To work it out
We found a clearing
Somewhere to start
Can you see the light
Tell me can you see the light
Of these Open skies
These open skies
These open skies
These open skies
Have come to save me
Don't panic now I can see the light
Don't panic now I can see the light
Don't panic now I can see the light
We'll make it through these open skies
The lyrics of Reamonn's song "Open Skies" evoke a sense of desperation mixed with hope. The song opens with the line "A child like screaming, get me out of here". This line suggests that the person singing the song is feeling trapped and is crying out for help. The next line, "You're the chosen one, and I believe", implies that the person singing the song has found someone they believe can help them escape from their current situation. The third line, "I saw you sleeping under skies so clear", suggests that the person singing the song has seen this chosen one at peace, under a clear night sky, and believes that they can help them find the same kind of peace.
The second verse continues the theme of freedom, with the lines "Up here is freedom, from a world so blind, we're disappearing from who we are". These lines suggest that the person singing the song feels as though they are not truly themselves when they are in the world below. The next line, "We found a reason to work it out", implies that the chosen one has provided the singer with a reason to keep going and to try to improve their situation. The final line, "We found a clearing, somewhere to start", indicates that the chosen one has helped the singer find a way forward.
Overall, "Open Skies" is a song about hope and finding a way out of a difficult situation. The chosen one represents a source of salvation for the singer, who is desperate to escape their current circumstances. The open skies provide a symbol of freedom and hope for a better future.

Thank heavens I always watch the credits. Watched "Der Rote Baron," and was touched by it (even though it's WAY off - historically). But when this song started playing, I couldn't believe my ears! WHY did this song not become a #1 hit around the world? I've been a music lover for over 50 years, but NOTHING touched me like this. And as my lady and I both fly antique, open-cockpit biplanes, I've yet to get through this with dry eyes. Simply MAGNIFICENT!
