Look into your eyes so eagerly
And whether is cold
I wouldn't walk away
'Cause when there's money love is blind
He's so blind
But after a time
I've got to let go
I hope life treats you good
I hope life treats you good
I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope
I hope life treats you well
I hope she treats you well
I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope
I hope that she's kind
I hope that she's kind
I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope
'Cause after a time you realize that it ain't easy
'Cause after a time you realize that you should've believed in me
I hope life treats you good
I hope life treats you good
I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope
None of ourselves calm so easily
Forgiven her was like the biggest sin to me
And whether was war
I wouldn't walk away
But after a time
I realized that for me to grow
I've got to let go
I hope life treats you good
I hope life treats you good
I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope
I hope life treats you well
I hope she treats you well
I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope
I hope that she's kind
I hope that she's kind
I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope
Hope life treats you good
I hope life treats you good
I hope, I hope, I hope, I hope
Used to hate you so easily
Look into those eyes so eagerly
And whether was cold
I wouldn't walk away
In "I Hope" by Rebecca Ferguson, the lyrics describe a past relationship where the singer struggled to forgive the person she was with. At one point, she hated him, but eventually realized that in order to grow, she had to let go of the anger and bitterness she was holding onto. The chorus expresses the hope that her ex-lover's life will be good and that his new partner treats him well, even though he didn't treat her as well as she deserved. The verses reveal that the singer stayed in the relationship despite it being difficult, blinded by the material wealth that her partner had. Through self-reflection, she came to understand that her inauthentic intentions and her inability to forgive were hindering her personal growth. The song encourages the listener to let go of pain and anger in order to move forward in life.

My view is that she is a great singer in the old classical soul style like Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick etc. I have loved Rebecca's voice from the first time I heard her but like great soul, disco, reggae and rock singers they are not in fashion in the music industry at this time.

Love the maturity in her message. She's not singing about revenge or wishing ill on the guy, but hoping that he has a wonderful life after her'. This song is full of class and anyone who's been part of a tumultuous relationship or bad breakup can learn from it. Sometimes it's better to let go, wish that person well, and move on. Beautiful lady!
