forgive me
Rebecca St. James Lyrics

Forgive me
For all the ways I've fallen short
Lord, forgive me now
God, I'm so in need of grace
I fall upon my face
Forgive me
Forgive me
Take my fear, Lord, take my shame
Lord, forgive me now
Purify me, make me new
Like only You can do
Forgive me now
Lord, we come to honor You
We are forgiven
We bring our love and thanks to You
We are forgiven now
God we praise You for Your grace
Before You we are raised
Forgiven
God we praise You for Your grace
Before You we are raised
Forgiven
Forgiven
In the song "Forgive Me," Rebecca St. James reflects on her imperfections and shortcomings, asking God to forgive her for all the times she has failed Him. The song communicates the humbling feeling of admitting to one's mistakes and seeking forgiveness from a higher power. Rebecca uses the word "Lord" to address God and ask for pardon. She acknowledges that she needs grace and falls down onto her face, the ultimate sign of humility, to ask for mercy. She is contrite, tearful, and ashamed of her mistakes, but she believes that God can purify her and make her new again.
The chorus is a joyful rejoicing, a sign of relief that forgiveness is granted. The singer thanks God for His grace and declares, "We are forgiven now." The lyrics are a beautiful expression of humility, hope, and faith. The song acknowledges that nobody is perfect, and it is okay to ask for forgiveness, trust in God's mercy, and move forward.

Me perdoa (tradução BR 🇧🇷)
Por todas as vezes que eu desapontei você, senhor
Me perdoe
Por todos os caminhos que eu não consegui chegar
Senhor, me perdoe agora
Deus, eu estou tão necessitado de graça
Eu me envergonho
Me perdoe
Você vê as lágrimas caírem de meu rosto
Me perdoe
Tome meu medo, senhor, tome minha vergonha
Senhor, me perdoe agora
Me purifique, me faça novo
Como só você pode fazer
Me perdoe agora
Senhor, nós viemos te adorar
Nós estamos perdoados
Nós trouxemos nosso amor e te agradecemos
Nós estamos perdoados agora
Deus nós te louvamos pela sua graça
Diante de ti estamos prostrados
Perdoados
Deus nós te louvamos pela sua graça
Diante de ti estamos prostrados
Perdoados
Perdoados
