Everywhere
Rebecka Törnqvist Lyrics

(Trnqvist/Svenre)
It's one of those strange days when I just can't get out of bed,
and thoughts of ever warm and sunny places fill my head
The lady upstairs sings the habanera now and then,
she seems to be quite happy, she sees a lot of men
I waited for the plumber all day
yesterday - I guess
I'll have to do my dishes in the tub
I ran to you a thousand times, but you were never there
I thought that if I saw you once, I'd know if you still care
I looked for you around the world, no you were never there
If home is where the heart is, dear, my home was everywhere,
everywhere
There's someone down there on the street
who's stealing someone's car
I hope he gets away with it
I hope he gets real far
I went to see a show but then of course
they're all sold out
I wish someone could tell me
what the fuss is all about
And why the days are tinged
With such a melancholy shade
And why she sings the habanera

I ran to you a thousand times...
Everywhere, everywhere...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Rebecka Törnqvist's "Everywhere" present a narrative of a woman who is experiencing a strange day. She remains in her bed, and her mind is filled with thoughts of warm and sunny places. Meanwhile, the lady upstairs sings the habanera in a happy and cheerful voice. Despite her longing, the woman is met with constant disappointment as she is unable to find her lover. She has searched for him everywhere in the world, but to no avail. The singer also observes someone stealing a car on the street, and she finds herself unable to understand why the world seems tinged with melancholy.

The lyrics of the song paint a vivid picture of a woman who feels lost and on the lookout for something that she can't quite find. The constant references to the surrounding environment add a layer of depth to the song, giving us insight into the thoughts of the woman. The brief mention of car theft and the sold-out show provides insight into the struggles faced by ordinary people, and how they deal with the realities of the world around them. The song's melancholic tone leaves the listener with the impression that there's no easy way out of the woman's situation.

on Mitt nya liv

oh he
