Attention Span
Rebelution Lyrics

Woah oh, woah oh, woah oh
Who can this be, this stranger at my door?
Although I know I've seen her once before
Come on, why can't I remember your name now
But in a way it's best that I don't say
It's a pleasure to meet ya
Once again for the night
I can't promise my focus
Is it me or is it my attention span?
Woah now now woah
I see the way you stare at me oh girl
I like the way you sway your hair and twirl
Come on, why can't I remember your name now
But in a way it's best that I don't say
It's a pleasure to meet ya
Once again for the night
I can't promise my focus
Is it me or is it my attention span?
Woah now now woah
Woah oh, woah oh, woah oh
Is this more than just routine?
Weigh it down on me
Give me more than just my needs
Weigh it down on me
And we're still riding high
And we're still riding high
I see the way you stare at me oh girl
I like the way you sway your hair and twirl
Come on, why can't I remember your name now
But in a way it's best that I don't say
It's a pleasure to meet ya
Once again for the night
I can't promise my focus
Is it me or is it my attention span?
Woah now now woah
Woah oh, woah oh, woah oh
The song 'Attention Span' by Rebelution is about meeting someone for the second time and not being able to remember their name. The narrator expresses their pleasure in meeting this person again but also acknowledges their short attention span by questioning whether it is them or their focus that is the issue. They still find the person attractive and enjoy being around them, but are also uncertain about the relationship's direction and feelings of routine.
The lyrics can be interpreted as a reflection on modern dating where attention spans are often short, and people are looking for instant gratification. The repetition of 'Woah now now woah' throughout the song highlights this sense of excitement but also short-lived interest. The song's catchy melody, upbeat tempo, and reggae-style backbeat reflect the positive energy of meeting someone new but also suggest an underlying sense of anxiety and uncertainty.
Overall, 'Attention Span' is a relatable song that touches on themes of attraction, connection, and uncertainty in relationships. It highlights the challenges of modern dating while also capturing the excitement and possibility of meeting someone new.

Rebelution kicked off their βPeace of Mind Tourβ the day after the release, selling out shows at Phillyβs The Electric Factory, The Hollywood Palladium, Denverβs The Fillmore, The Fox Theater in Oakland and Hard Rock in Orlando, FL. The tour made stops in a total of 42 cities across the country.
Summer 2012 was spent supporting O.A.R on their Amphitheatre tour, headlining four amphitheaters in Florida as well as festival performances at Outside Lands, Hangout, Forecastle, Summer Camp, Summer Set, The Allman Broβs Peach Festival and two performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. After completing a Fall tour of the East and South East, Rebelution will be headlining The Hollywood Palladium on New Years Eve, heading to New Zealand for the Raggamuffins Festival in February and headlining their annual Winter Greens Tour around the USA in Feb - May 2013.
Peace of Mind marks the first time Rebelution has expanded beyond their usual self-production enlisting producers Michael Goldwasser (Easy Star All-Stars), Amp Live (Zion-I), Yeti Beats (Kool Keith, George Clinton), Keith Armstrong and Errol Brown (Stephen, Ziggy, Damian, and Bob Marley). The album builds upon the bandβs signature style while venturing into new musical genres from the lush strings incorporated into the gentle βRoute Aroundβ to the driving guitar and synths throughout βLady In Whiteβ.
Rebelution has developed into a front-runner for grassroots, independent and tour driven music groups. Originally formed in 2004, members Eric Rachmany (vocals / guitar), Rory Carey (keyboards), Wesley Finley (drums), and Marley D. Williams (bass) met in college, while residing in Isla Vista, a popular beachside community in Santa Barbara. It was there that the seeds to Rebelutionβs future were planted creating inspiring and engaging music that would leave their listeners with the sense that they have the power to make this world a better place. The band continuously tours across the country, ventured to South America and Europe, and has previously performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits among others.

This is my youngest son's (6 yr-old) most favorite band....I can't tell you how many times their music has helped him calm down and rock back and forth (he has low-functioning autism).

I think I have high functioning autism but I'm too prideful to check. But this is some dead post revival right here.. 8 years ago.
