Lost in Dreams
Rebelution Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning | Line by Line Meaning
Can I connect?
From the depths of my mind to my soul
Reconnect
In my dream you and I intersect
You bring affection, peace and respect
And when it ricochets yes it reflects
It's just another complex universe effect
Here marks the brand new intellect
To provoke deep thoughts and keep you and I connected
Seasons change but I stay the same
Time flies by well I'm still remaining
I think I'm trapped in a game
Well I don't know
Seasons change but we stay the same
Time flies by well we're still remaining
I think we're trapped in a maze
Well I don't know
Can I wake up?
Can I wake up?
As we lie asleep lost in dreams
Feeling like we are being caught in between two worlds
Different
Two different places
One that's familiar
Others hard to explain but
We can pick on any theme
I can follow you and then well you can follow me
Fall from the clouds like the raindrops
Until we see the sunrise and our world stops
And our world stops
The lyrics of Rebelution's song Lost in Dreams delve into the idea of finding a deeper connection with oneself and with others, and the struggle to navigate through the complexity of the mind and the world around us. The first verse talks about the desire to reconnect with oneself, as the narrator asks if he can connect from the depths of his mind to his soul. He then describes a dream where he intersects with someone else who brings affection, peace, and respect, creating a complex universe effect that provokes deep thoughts and keeps them connected. The chorus then suggests that while time passes and seasons change, they remain the same and potentially trapped in a game or a maze. The second verse poses the question of whether they can wake up, perhaps implying a desire to break free from the cycle and find a way out. The lyrics end with a sense of hope as they describe lying asleep lost in dreams, between two worlds, but able to follow each other and find beauty in falling from the clouds until the world stops.

Rebelution kicked off their โPeace of Mind Tourโ the day after the release, selling out shows at Phillyโs The Electric Factory, The Hollywood Palladium, Denverโs The Fillmore, The Fox Theater in Oakland and Hard Rock in Orlando, FL. The tour made stops in a total of 42 cities across the country.
Summer 2012 was spent supporting O.A.R on their Amphitheatre tour, headlining four amphitheaters in Florida as well as festival performances at Outside Lands, Hangout, Forecastle, Summer Camp, Summer Set, The Allman Broโs Peach Festival and two performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. After completing a Fall tour of the East and South East, Rebelution will be headlining The Hollywood Palladium on New Years Eve, heading to New Zealand for the Raggamuffins Festival in February and headlining their annual Winter Greens Tour around the USA in Feb - May 2013.
Peace of Mind marks the first time Rebelution has expanded beyond their usual self-production enlisting producers Michael Goldwasser (Easy Star All-Stars), Amp Live (Zion-I), Yeti Beats (Kool Keith, George Clinton), Keith Armstrong and Errol Brown (Stephen, Ziggy, Damian, and Bob Marley). The album builds upon the bandโs signature style while venturing into new musical genres from the lush strings incorporated into the gentle โRoute Aroundโ to the driving guitar and synths throughout โLady In Whiteโ.
Rebelution has developed into a front-runner for grassroots, independent and tour driven music groups. Originally formed in 2004, members Eric Rachmany (vocals / guitar), Rory Carey (keyboards), Wesley Finley (drums), and Marley D. Williams (bass) met in college, while residing in Isla Vista, a popular beachside community in Santa Barbara. It was there that the seeds to Rebelutionโs future were planted creating inspiring and engaging music that would leave their listeners with the sense that they have the power to make this world a better place. The band continuously tours across the country, ventured to South America and Europe, and has previously performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits among others.

They put on a awesome show at the Palladium with Common Kings in Hollywood in March. They pretty much played their whole new album, my ears were still ringing like three days after the concert. Can't wait to see these guys again.
