Rebelution Lyrics

Tell me what you're running from, she said everything and everyone
Tell me what you're running from, what you're running from
Tell me what you're running from because your past it can't be undone
Oh tell me what you're running from, what you're running from
She wakes up every morning, thoughts weighing heavy on her mind
She's hoping today will be a better day than the ones behind
She's having some trouble getting going, from the fear she's paralyzed
She puts her face into her hands and then she cries
She's so tired, she closes her eyes
Trying to live up to a standard that the world provides
She's so tired, she closes her eyes
Trying to live up to a standard that the world provides
[Chorus]
No hope for tomorrow, no hope for today
No hope for anything that comes her way
She's so used to feeling empty inside
No reasons to live, more reasons to die
At least that's what she feels inside
Will she ever find the courage to change
She's so tired, she closes her eyes
Trying to live up to a standard that the world provides
She's so tired, she closes her eyes
Trying to live up to a standard that the world provides
She's been running away so long, running away from home
Will she ever get back, I don't know, no I don't know
You can see it in her eyes and you can see it in her smile
[Chorus]
The song "Running" by Rebelution is a poignant ballad about a woman who wakes up every morning weighed down by the troubles of her past. She is trying to escape from everything and everyone because she feels like it's impossible to undo the past. The chorus asks, "Tell me what you're running from because your past it can't be undone." It's a powerful message that suggests that we need to confront our past and learn to face it head on instead of running away from it.
The lyrics paint a picture of a woman who is struggling to live up to the standards that the world provides. She is tired and feels empty inside. She's so used to feeling this way that she doesn't even have hope for tomorrow or anything that comes her way. The song channels the difficult emotions that come with feeling trapped in a life that seems impossible to change. The lyrics suggest that it is possible to change your life, but it requires courage and the willingness to confront your past.
The line "She's been running away so long, running away from home" is particularly moving as it suggests that the woman has been running for a very long time. The question "Will she ever get back, I don't know, no I don't know" is one that will resonate with anyone who has ever felt trapped in their life.
Overall, this song provides a powerful message about the importance of facing our past and confronting the fears that are holding us back. It's a call to action to live boldly and courageously, no matter how difficult the circumstances may be.

Rebelution kicked off their “Peace of Mind Tour” the day after the release, selling out shows at Philly’s The Electric Factory, The Hollywood Palladium, Denver’s The Fillmore, The Fox Theater in Oakland and Hard Rock in Orlando, FL. The tour made stops in a total of 42 cities across the country.
Summer 2012 was spent supporting O.A.R on their Amphitheatre tour, headlining four amphitheaters in Florida as well as festival performances at Outside Lands, Hangout, Forecastle, Summer Camp, Summer Set, The Allman Bro’s Peach Festival and two performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre. After completing a Fall tour of the East and South East, Rebelution will be headlining The Hollywood Palladium on New Years Eve, heading to New Zealand for the Raggamuffins Festival in February and headlining their annual Winter Greens Tour around the USA in Feb - May 2013.
Peace of Mind marks the first time Rebelution has expanded beyond their usual self-production enlisting producers Michael Goldwasser (Easy Star All-Stars), Amp Live (Zion-I), Yeti Beats (Kool Keith, George Clinton), Keith Armstrong and Errol Brown (Stephen, Ziggy, Damian, and Bob Marley). The album builds upon the band’s signature style while venturing into new musical genres from the lush strings incorporated into the gentle “Route Around” to the driving guitar and synths throughout “Lady In White”.
Rebelution has developed into a front-runner for grassroots, independent and tour driven music groups. Originally formed in 2004, members Eric Rachmany (vocals / guitar), Rory Carey (keyboards), Wesley Finley (drums), and Marley D. Williams (bass) met in college, while residing in Isla Vista, a popular beachside community in Santa Barbara. It was there that the seeds to Rebelution’s future were planted creating inspiring and engaging music that would leave their listeners with the sense that they have the power to make this world a better place. The band continuously tours across the country, ventured to South America and Europe, and has previously performed at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Austin City Limits among others.

Well tell me what you're running from
She said everything and everyone
Well tell me what you're running from
What you're running from
Well tell me what you're running from
Because your past it can't be undone
Oh tell me what you're running from
What you're running from
She wakes up every morning
Her thoughts weighing heavy on her mind
She's hoping today will be a better day than the ones behind
She's having some trouble getting going
Oh, from the fear she's paralyzed
She puts her face into her hands and then she cries
She's so tired, she closes her eyes
Trying to live up to a standard that the world provides
She's so tired, she closes her eyes
Trying to live up to a standard that the world provides
Oh yes!
Well tell me what you're running from
She said everything and everyone
Well tell me what you're running from
What you're running from
Well tell me what you're running from, girl
Because your past it can't be undone, no way
Oh tell me what you're running from
What you're running from.. woah yeah
No hope for tomorrow, no hope for today
No hope for anything that comes her way
She's so used to feeling empty inside
No reasons to live, more reasons to die
At least that's what she feels inside
Will she ever find the courage to change
She's so tired, she closes her eyes
Trying to live up to a standard that the world provides
She's so tired, she closes her eyes
Trying to live up to a standard that the world provides
Oh yeah!
Well she's been running away so long
And she's been running away from home
Will she ever get back, I don't know, no I don't know
And you can see it in her eyes
And you can see it in her smile
Oh, oh, oh, yeah! Oh, oh yeah, yeah
Well tell me what you're running from
She said everything and everyone
Well tell me what you're running from
What you're running from
Well tell me what you're running from, girl
Because your past it can't be undone, no way
Tell me what you're running from
What you're running from.. woah yeah

This song hits home. I'm constantly running and focus to help other people in their problems. I have a better understanding of myself... bipolar and ADHD genuinely fucks me up. I need to be kind to myself so I can accept myself as is and that because I have mental issues doesn't mean I'm not enough.
