Red Flag Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'm not immortal, my time is brief
So I want more than I can have
I'm alive, alive
With every breath of life I draw
My words will more than rhyme
As long as I know I'm alive
My views are strong
I know I'm right, I loved yet hated
And though I'm one and they are many
They're out numbered
I'm alive, alive
With every breath of life I draw
My words will more than rhyme
As long as I know I'm alive
My blood is red, my time is brief
I value now and believe that life is calling
And she's screaming my name
I'm alive (yes, I'm one of the living)
Alive (because I know I'm alive)
With every breath of song I've sung
My words will more than rhyme
As long as I know I'm alive
Red Flag's song "Alive" is a powerful anthem about the value of life and the desire for individuals to make the most out of their time on earth. The song's opening line "My blood is red, I'm perfectly flawed" sets the tone for the rest of the piece. Red Flag acknowledges that despite being imperfect, they are still alive and have the opportunity to make a difference in the world.
The next line "I'm not immortal, my time is brief" reinforces the idea that life is fleeting and should be treasured while it lasts. Red Flag sings that they want more than what they currently have, which can be interpreted in a few different ways. Perhaps they are striving for success or fulfillment, or maybe they are simply expressing their gratitude for the things they do have in life.
The chorus, "I'm alive, alive / With every breath of life I draw / My words will more than rhyme / As long as I know I'm alive" reinforces the central theme of the song. Red Flag is celebrating their life and declaring their intention to make the most out of every moment. They express their desire to leave a lasting impact on the world through their words and actions.
The second verse of the song is a bit more confrontational. Red Flag sings "My views are strong / I know I'm right, I loved yet hated / And though I'm one and they are many / They're outnumbered." Here, they are speaking to those who may have doubted them or opposed their views. Despite being in the minority, Red Flag remains resolute in their convictions.
The bridge of the song brings everything together. "My blood is red, my time is brief / I value now and believe that life is calling / And she's screaming my name." Life is calling, and Red Flag is answering. They recognize that they have a limited amount of time on this earth and want to make the most out of it.
Overall, "Alive" is an uplifting and inspirational song that encourages listeners to seize the day and live life to the fullest.
