Red Plastic Bag began performing in 1979. He combined the sounds of reggae and soca, and has become one of the most popular performers in Barbados and throughout the Caribbean. His biggest hit, "Ragga Ragga", has been recorded in seven different languages.
As the results of the Finals of Barbados' Pic o' de Crop Competition were read in the early morning of the 3rd of August 2007, RPB became the island's calypso king for a record 8 times, after a two year hiatus, and pledged to defend his title the following year.

The song "Wrong Gal" by Red Plastic Bag is a soca genre track that tells the story of the singer's mistaken identity while whining (dancing in a sexually suggestive manner) on a woman at a party. The song's opening lines introduce the phrase "dubadoo" as an expression of excitement or enthusiasm for the music.
The singer apologizes to the woman for whining on her, thinking she was someone else, and credits the soca music for causing him to lose his orientation. He also acknowledges that what he is doing is wrong but feels right at the same time.
The chorus repeats the lines, "I whining on de wrong gyal, and I like it, I like it" to emphasize his enjoyment of dancing on the wrong person. The song concludes with the singer expressing his love for the woman's dance moves and how soca music causes a party frenzy.
Overall, the song has a humorous tone and light-hearted message, emphasizing the power of soca music to create joyous moments and connect people at a party despite any misunderstandings.

This guy RPG is great! Saw him at the Soca Monarch Show in Barbados a few years back and his performance and music blew my mind. Wish he would come to South Florida. I'll be in the front row with my red bandana.
