Redman's solo career continued throughout the remainder of the decade, with each of his albums selling at least half a million copies. His musical style has remained very consistent, rarely deviating from a combination of Redman's unique braggadocious wit and hard, P-funk-influenced beats. In addition to releasing albums under his own name, he is part of the group Def Squad (along with Keith Murray and Erick Sermon) with whom he released the 1998 album El Nino, and also has formed a close partnership with labelmate Method Man (of the Wu-Tang Clan) with whom he released the 1999 album Blackout!. The long-awaited follow-up, Blackout! 2, apeared in 2009.
He has also collaborated extensively, both with hip-hop artists and with artists from other genres; the long list of artists and groups he has worked with includes Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, Scarface, The Offspring, Christina Aguilera, Eminem, Gorillaz, D'Angelo, Me'shell Ndegeocello, 2Pac, Jodeci, Cypress Hill, De La Soul, KRS One and IAM.
In 2001 Redman co-starred with Method Man in the stoner comedy film How High, which featured the pair playing two marijuana-addled students attempting to survive at Harvard. Method Man and Redman also appear in the Def Jam Vendetta video game series, often as Tag Team partners, and briefly had their own television sitcom, Method & Red, on Fox during the 2004-2005 season.
Redman is also featured on the video game "True Crime: New York City", in which the central character interacts with an undercover street cop based upon the rap star, who also provides the voice for him.

Yo, Redman 'Back in Business' like E-P-M
D whips I drive, I gotta TV'em
I tour New York down, so B.B. King 'em
Found my way back home like E.T. finger
I rock the arena, you know the drill
Get high, get drunk, grab a hoe and chill
Promotin' Red Gone Wild with no backin
Doc get five on the mic like Joe Jackson
Foreign bitches feelin' me for my accent
Talk like a boss, I can't complain
When I do it, it's big like Fulton in St. James
I got Brick City, even D.C. bitches
They all steal for me outta P.C. Riches
I move like a pimp, but I'm far from one
Like Lil Weez, I got army guns
Gimmie one, nigga
[Chorus]
1, and here comes the 2 to the 3 and 4
And here comes the 3 to the 2 and 1 (Gimmie one, nigga)
And here comes the 2 to the 3 and 4
And here comes the 3 to the 2 and 1 (Gimmie one, nigga)
And here comes the 2 to the 3 and 4
And here comes the 3 to the 2 and 1 (Gimmie one, nigga)
And here comes the 2 to the 3 and 4
Yo, If you don't like me, fuck you, I flex one muscle
Doc got more effects than kung fu hustle
I'm uptown, buyin' the perk
Lookin' cut clean, jeans, ? designer shirt
Redman fell off, what the talks about?
I wasn't lettin' y'all swim when the shark was out
Rollin red carpet out, it's Jersey
Me and them together is like Lil' Seymour and Big Percy
I knew women from high school that picked on me
Now I see them, they all wanna lick on me
I hood down homie, rock like Bon Jovi
I can work the night shift like he Brian Mobley
Brick City, boy, my flow is on fire
Disagree, I go in your mouth like botox
Pick up Pete Rock, nigga, we all cool
Hit the highway and ask, "Is the CL smooth?" nigga
[Chorus]
Your style might be parkay, but mine butter
That bitch can't break no bread, then why fuck her
I'm kinda cocky, homeboy, did I stutter?
I pop the umbilical cord on my mother
I jumped out the womb, I became a whale
That's hard to harpoon, I need more room
The hood love me, so I keep it real gully
I got handsome, but my flow is still ugly
Turn the treble out the track and I'll jet
I lines in my rhyme are longer than Ikea
I stay on my grind, but when I come up with an Idea
The year, is party over here
It's 5 years I disappeared, but I'm back
And tell Nino Brown and them that I'm crack
Grab my bozack, middle finger is up
I got your grandma givin' it up
Gimmie one, nigga!
[Chorus]
In Gimmie One, Redman starts by declaring that he's "Back in Business" like EPMD, setting the tone for this braggadocious and confident song. He talks about his luxurious lifestyle, driving expensive cars and touring New York in B.B. King's arena. He also mentions promoting his album Red Gone Wild, and how he has no backing, meaning he doesn't need anyone to support him. Redman boasts about being able to talk like a boss, referencing Fulton in St. James, a famous street in Newark, New Jersey. He also claims to have women stealing for him out of PC Riches, a former electronics store chain. Redman emphasizes his masculinity and power by saying that he moves like a pimp but is far from one, and that he has army guns like Lil Wayne. The chorus is catchy and repetitive, with Redman telling listeners to "gimmie one" in each verse.
Throughout Gimmie One, Redman's clever wordplay and witty humor shine through, making this song an excellent addition to his repertoire. He references movies like ET, Kung Fu Hustle, and New Jack City, and drops plenty of pop culture references. Redman's rap style is distinct and recognizable, and his delivery is confident and smooth. The chorus is infectious and easy to sing along with, making this song popular with fans. Overall, Gimmie One is a masterclass in hip-hop braggadocio, with Redman's clever lyrics and infectious energy making it one of his best tracks.

Dont know what the fuss is about! Redman is still one of the best lyricists EVER...This album, if you listen to it closely, is Reggie showing all the young hopefuls out there how it is supposed to be done! Like a line in this track 'Redman fell off, What's the talk about?' NOT TRUE! He's still the man!
@FRESHCOOLAIDE
Just re-copped that Muddy Waters last week. It felt like December 10th 1996! I fell in love with that album all over again. CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR PART 2!!!!!!!!!. Hip Hop needs a fresh, ice cold jug of water. She's dehydrated.
