Redman's solo career continued throughout the remainder of the decade, with each of his albums selling at least half a million copies. His musical style has remained very consistent, rarely deviating from a combination of Redman's unique braggadocious wit and hard, P-funk-influenced beats. In addition to releasing albums under his own name, he is part of the group Def Squad (along with Keith Murray and Erick Sermon) with whom he released the 1998 album El Nino, and also has formed a close partnership with labelmate Method Man (of the Wu-Tang Clan) with whom he released the 1999 album Blackout!. The long-awaited follow-up, Blackout! 2, apeared in 2009.
He has also collaborated extensively, both with hip-hop artists and with artists from other genres; the long list of artists and groups he has worked with includes Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, Scarface, The Offspring, Christina Aguilera, Eminem, Gorillaz, D'Angelo, Me'shell Ndegeocello, 2Pac, Jodeci, Cypress Hill, De La Soul, KRS One and IAM.
In 2001 Redman co-starred with Method Man in the stoner comedy film How High, which featured the pair playing two marijuana-addled students attempting to survive at Harvard. Method Man and Redman also appear in the Def Jam Vendetta video game series, often as Tag Team partners, and briefly had their own television sitcom, Method & Red, on Fox during the 2004-2005 season.
Redman is also featured on the video game "True Crime: New York City", in which the central character interacts with an undercover street cop based upon the rap star, who also provides the voice for him.

Yo, I'm hot, global warming ridin on two-six
I ain't thug nigga I don't, bullet-proof shit
Gilla nigga, and we abide by the blueprint
We ain't all loud, holla and whoopin
Blah blah blah, a whole lot of nothin'
You know the loud ones, they do a whole lot of duckin'
And even for that cake I'll fuck Lil' Debbie
Soldier boy, murder land's like Baltimore
Roll on stage, more deeper than a Commodore
Get shut down! Yeah, knock your mans off
Wouldn't trade places if you ? or Randolph
Shorty shorty, give me that body
Start a riot 'til security on the walkie
Reggie Noble '07, keep all sort of hoes yellin
Nine-fo'-three-eleven, get it or fo'get it!
[Chorus]
You could hold dis blaow! Real street (real street)
Real street niggaz ain't havin' that shit
You could hold dis blaow! Real street (real street)
Real street niggaz ain't havin' that shit
You could hold dis blaow! Real street (real street)
Real street niggaz ain't havin' that shit
You could hold dis blaow! And niggas is, nig'
And niggaz is gettin smoked G, believe me

Gilla House foundation (yeah)
Gilla House foundation (aww yeah)
Gilla House foundation (thorough niggas, no, no!)
Gilla House foundation (monkey niggaz)
Yo, Gilla nigga, era, fuck you, pay me
Boogie Down like Bronx, high at the skate key
It's like Janet, "What Have You Done for Me, Lately?"
Nothin', I blew up, you try to inflate me
Dog, in my dutch, a whole lot of bud
End up in Jersey now, a whole lot of blood
So when you get here show a whole lot of love
Or leave shot up, robbed and thrown out a truck
I don't condone, I got kids to relate to
"Redman Gone Wild" - hear the new debut
Fox 5 a nigga, boy that's great news
Now I'm back in the, hood like Grey Goose
Who gon' stop me? I'm razor sharp
With Gilla niggas front line, and Jay the boss
Y'all chicken ass niggas blood made of broth
But I'm barbershop talk, L.A. and New York
So all you West Coast niggas, get that money
Cause these Brick City dudes get that money
It's gonna be, one pussy that'll act funny
("Yo I'm gon' get this nigga, leave the Cadillac runnin'")
Yo, Uptown got haze, Miami got crippy ?
I'm fucked up, I slipped my own self a mickie
Doin' dirty, I'm triple-X "XXX" like Vin Dies'
Who you know can, pump weed out of Wendy's
Shorty shorty, give me that body
Start a riot 'til security on the walkie
Reggie Noble '07, keep all sort of hoes yellin'
Nine-fo'-three-eleven, get it or fo'get it!
[Chorus]
Gilla Gilla Gilla Gilla
Yeah, Gilla niggas
(Gilla Gilla Gilla Gilla)
Thorough niggaz
Monkey niggas (blam)
In Redman's song "Hold Dis Blaow!", he starts his verse by saying that he is hot, riding on two-six, which means he's on a car with 26-inch rims, and continues to emphasize that he is not a thug nor does he wear bulletproof attire. He's a Gilla nigga and abides by the blueprint, referring to the Gilla House crew and their ways of doing things. Redman mocks those who are loud and boastful but have nothing to back it up, followed by him stating that he hustles hard for the money and will do anything to get it. He mentions various well-known names such as Lil Debbie, Soldier Boy, and Randolph, indicating that he's unfazed by these people, and he wouldn't want to switch places with them as he has his own identity he is proud of. He finishes the verse by saying that he demands respect and attention, otherwise, there will be consequences, and people will get smoked.
The chorus reinforces the idea that real street niggas won't tolerate anyone disrespecting them or their crew, and they will hold dis blaow, meaning they will shoot to defend themselves. In the second verse, Redman continues with his braggadocious activity, stating that Gilla House foundation is solid and isn't messing around. Rather than complaining or asking for favors, Redman says, 'Fuck you, pay me.' He compares his rise to fame to Janet Jackson's song, "What Have You Done For Me Lately," indicating that people only want to associate with him now that he is successful. He uses a lot of wordplay throughout the song, using his humor to express himself. Redman says that he's been in custody and suffered a lot, and he has a new album out called "Redman Gone Wild." He finishes the verse by telling people to make money in their respective cities as, ultimately, everyone wants to support their loved ones and have a good life. In the end, the song promotes the idea of standing up for oneself and being confident in one's abilities.
