Redman's solo career continued throughout the remainder of the decade, with each of his albums selling at least half a million copies. His musical style has remained very consistent, rarely deviating from a combination of Redman's unique braggadocious wit and hard, P-funk-influenced beats. In addition to releasing albums under his own name, he is part of the group Def Squad (along with Keith Murray and Erick Sermon) with whom he released the 1998 album El Nino, and also has formed a close partnership with labelmate Method Man (of the Wu-Tang Clan) with whom he released the 1999 album Blackout!. The long-awaited follow-up, Blackout! 2, apeared in 2009.
He has also collaborated extensively, both with hip-hop artists and with artists from other genres; the long list of artists and groups he has worked with includes Wyclef Jean, Snoop Dogg, Scarface, The Offspring, Christina Aguilera, Eminem, Gorillaz, D'Angelo, Me'shell Ndegeocello, 2Pac, Jodeci, Cypress Hill, De La Soul, KRS One and IAM.
In 2001 Redman co-starred with Method Man in the stoner comedy film How High, which featured the pair playing two marijuana-addled students attempting to survive at Harvard. Method Man and Redman also appear in the Def Jam Vendetta video game series, often as Tag Team partners, and briefly had their own television sitcom, Method & Red, on Fox during the 2004-2005 season.
Redman is also featured on the video game "True Crime: New York City", in which the central character interacts with an undercover street cop based upon the rap star, who also provides the voice for him.

What you know about it? (4X)
A what you know about it?
Doc tapin on debate for months
I got zits on your face that can't wait to bump
Boogie Down to the point I barricade the Bronx
Papi spins the rhymes through your opti lens check it
It's five below my brain is cold
Runny nose evey time Doc exchange a blow
My street team snipe the block up like Rob Lowe
Bodega liquor store, I'm dead in the window
PPP symbol got FBI on lookout
Strip the dirty clothes, hit a 118 cookout
I woof out, son you better buckle in
I write the madness, got ink foamin at the pen
I tear a ligament when I spit it in the wind
I got so much game I can Con Edison
Yeah chicken stand by for exposure
Shut your house down foreclosure ya in cold blood
(Yo cuz) Shut the power out in your house
Cut the phone put a sock in your mouth, let da monkey out
Yo let da monkeys out
Show them fools what it's all about
Holla out, hear me out
Say, oooh ooh ahh ahh ahh, yo yo (2X)
Yo let da monkeys out
Show them fools what it's all about
Holla out, hear me out
Say, oooh ooh ahh ahh ahh, yo yo (2X)
y'all motherfuckers ain't ready
Is Redman in the house? (One time)
Form a line, jack ya, then pawn the shine
Stay there, runnin with more kids than daycare
One shot prove it ain't nuttin but weight here
When he lands flat I'm the minivan
with Lil' Cease, runnin cities like Geechie Dan
When Richie Cunningham was O.P. I was low-key
Airing niggaz that was more square than my gold teeth
My appetite for destruction is to hustle
All the cottonmouth'll turnbuckle when I rustle
Mr. Tough Guy on the side, I fuck him up too
Slam him, when I bark I marked his Buchanan
Yo, New York niggaz in the house?
Yo yo yo.. is Jersey niggaz in the house?
Yo yo, I hold fort with a quart of Olde E from Newark
I tell lies under oath if it please the court
Supreme force, in the swamps with the green moss
Bug repellant suit, bustin machines off
I'm deadly roamin with the forty-four blazin in
No negotiator, yo not even Chris Sabien
can save your life -- Doc'll creep in the house
Yo cut the phones, put a sock in your mouth
Let da monkey out
Yo let da monkeys out
Show them fools what it's all about
Holla out, hear me out
Say, oooh ooh ahh ahh ahh, yo yo (2X)
Yo let da monkeys out
Show them fools what it's all about
Holla out, hear me out
Say, oooh ooh ahh ahh ahh, yo yo (2X)
Yo let da monkeys out
Show them fools what it's all about
Holla out..
Say, oooh ooh ahh ahh ahh, yo yo (2X)
Yo let da monkeys out
Show them fools what it's all about
Holla out.. yo
Say, oooh ooh ahh ahh ahh, yo yo (2X)
Yo, haha, 199motherfuckin9 niggaz

Ain't shit changed motherfucker
Pack your own heat, supply your own motherfuckin ammo nigga
PPP comin through, this is Dr. Trevis
Bitch asses
The lyrics to Redman's song "Let Da Monkey Out" are filled with boastful and aggressive lines that are meant to assert his dominance. The song is based on the idea that Redman is a force to be reckoned with, and anyone who challenges him will face dire consequences. Throughout the song, he references his tough upbringing and his ability to take down any opponent who comes his way. He talks about his street team, which is poised to take over the city and take down anyone who stands in their way. He also boasts about his lyrical prowess, claiming that he has so much game he can "Con Edison," a nod to the utility company. Redman's rhymes flow effortlessly, and his clever wordplay is impressive.
The chorus of the song is "Let da monkeys out," which is a call for Redman's followers to take action and show their dominance. The monkey motif is a reference to the animal's wild and unpredictable nature, and Redman is urging his fans to unleash their primal instincts and show people what they are made of. The words "oooh ooh ahh ahh ahh" also reinforce this idea, as they are the sounds that monkeys make.
Overall, "Let Da Monkey Out" is a powerful and aggressive song that showcases Redman's skills as a rapper. The lyrics are bold and unapologetic, and the beat is intense and energetic, making it a quintessential hip hop anthem.
