Yup. The opening has quite a lot of symbolism towards the show.
This will have spoilers for seadon 2 as well, if you haven't watched it yet. You have been warned.
It starts off with Subaru being revived, starting a new loop looking around himself in terror from his experience with death.
We get a few shots of all the characters, with two being highlighted more than the others: Elsa and Roswaal, showing off two of the major antagonists so far. Also, it shows the characters with important connections to eachother as well. Subaru and Emilia, because Emilia was the first person who ever showed compassion towards Subaru (disregarding his parents). Felt is alone, as she is mostly by herself (and Rom isn't really a big character in the series), while being overshadowed by the threat that is Elsa. Rem and Ram are shown together, just for Rem to disappear out of the scene and Roswaal covering the screen showing both his connection to Ram, and similar role to Elsa.
The next scene with Emilia and Subaru staring at eachother have Emilia's shadow reversed, which could signify that she's not who she's giving herself out to be, the fact that she was trying to keep herself at a distance from Subaru, or Subaru looking at her back as a goal he can't yet reach. All of wich are true for the first arc in the series.
Then the witch steals her away from him yet again, and he is left there scared and confused, just for the "I got you pal" moment you mentioned to take place on screen. We see Subaru looking for Emilia, but never quite walking in her direction, just for him to let out a scream of agony and frustration.
We have a cool little character showcase, which I couldn't really find any meaning in.
Then we get the title of the show, being presented in an almost Steins;Gate like fashion, with a bright light (representing his hope) shining in the background as Subaru struggles to give his goals on to the next version of himself.
He finally reaches the light he's aiming for, and can see all his reasons to fight, just for the witch to grab a hold of him, pulling him righg back to square one, ready for the next loop to start.

I strongly and highly recommend you read the novels ASAP. The wait for the future arcs to get adapted is so long you will die of impatience.
Try reading the Web Novel, it is rough draft version of the Light novel. It is much more ahead than LN and also *free*.
WitchCultTranslations or HereticTranslations is the best english translation site of the WN. Start at Arc 5 (The story takes place after season 2 anime)
