yep Gravity plays in the earth Orbit and isn't Sci-fi but an action loaded movie.

The martian plays on another planet (and after the definition it is an sci-fi movie)

I saw this in theaters twice once on regular screening, second in IMAX 3D. I cannot stress this enough I literally think every movie theater should have at least 1 3D Imax room reserved to have this available 24/7. It's like a NEEDED historical experience. I love space, but the 3D here puts a WHOLE NEW PERSPECTIVE to the whole thing. You FEEL like you're in space, when the camera is pointed at Earth you can literally see the texture of the planet, you can actually see how tall the mountains are. I actually felt like an astronaut and I don't think there will be another movie that replicates the feeling better.

Yon know, people don't realize that this movie isn't really a science fiction movie. This movie is about the obstacles you face in life and overcoming them. It's a great emotional movie. I highly recommend.

When this came out in the movie theaters I couldn't make it. Shortly after my film professor at uni mentioned we should only watch it at the theatre to get the full, real experience. This was in 2013.
I've watched this tonight at a theatre in my city: it was the most amazing, compelling, intense filmic experience I've had in years. It was worth every single day of wait.

The movie was an entire roller coaster ride. Your heading up the hill, then you get to the peak, and then down you go, it is extremely intense. It was amazing and even got me a little motion sick thanks to the amazing 3d effects in IMAX. Best movie I've seen this year. Five stars for everything. (:

The thing that creeps me out about this movie is that this is a entirely plausible scenario. It actually scared the hell outta me when I was sitting in the theater and watching it in Imax. It made me really think I was a fourth astronaut up in space with them. Plus the piano in the trailer gave me chills. Fantastic movie. Hoping for a sequel.

People have had years now to poke holes in the plot and nitpick this film. But when I saw it new, the theater stayed dead quiet. Nobody got up, nobody talked, nobody played with their phones. It was just that good. People looked almost stunned as they walked out of the theater. It was quite an experience.

People comparing Gravity to Interstellar are missing the point entirely. Quite literally an apples-to-oranges comparison fallacy. Just because the two movies are sci fi (and Gravity really is not true SF since it doesn't imagine any technology we don't already have), doesn't make them remotely similar. Interstellar is a relatively sedate "big-story" sci fi epic. Gravity is an intimate character portrait coupled with an action-adventure thriller. Two very different kinds of movie. Thinking they are somehow comparable, just because both are set in space, is naive.

They're both excellent movies that are very effective at achieving their very different goals. Interstellar's goal is to make you think. Gravity's goal is to make you care.

La verdad no la queria ver, las peliculas del espacio no son mis favoritas, pero ver a la Bullock me animó. Excelente cinta, mantener la atención del espectador en un monologo, los feliciito. This film really warranted an IMAX 3D showing. Watching at home on your relatively small TV (no matter how big it is) just doesn't cut it. And the 3D was the most believable, naturalistic 3D I've ever seen. Combined with the IMAX size it felt... well real, like I was there in space with them. That effect and it's power and ability to draw you into the suspense and sheer terror of the events as they unfold can NOT be underestimated. to criticise the film after only seeing it off a Bluray does it no justice at all.

This movie was an absolute visual delight. I normally do not really like 3D movies, but in this case, the 3D experience did this movie absolute justice. If your main concern in a movie is good dialogue, then this is not for your. However, if you are looking for an visually spectacular experience with tons of suspense and intensive, breath-taking scenes, then I can not recommend this movie enough. This is a movie which absolutely has to be seen in a cinema

Magnifique! I just loved it. On the story line, nothing much had happened but it is SO impressive. It is done beautifully. (don't know how realistic this was, obviously, but I loved the effects) The shots of Earth are just gorgeous. She really plays it well, as always, and is in great shape. xxx

I have to say this is easily one of the best movies I've ever seen entertaining wise. The fact its just a roller coaster ride from hell. With my obsession with space and finally this movie set in space for the full hour and half runtime was just great and everything from how the sound you hear is only from the vibrations. The score and CG were top notch this movie is the best movie to watch if you just wanna escape from everything IMO.

I absolutely loved this movie! I personally thought it was outstanding and deserved all the Oscars it received. It is SOO NOOOTT OVERRATED. If people are talking about it too much then it's for a reason. Because it's SERIOUSLY SOOO GOOD! I was intense all throughout the movie all anxious of what would happen next. I thought it an appropriate running time. That's excellent. That shows how well developed the movie is that they don't have to go in circles emphasizing the same thing over and over again. The beginning is perfect as well. We can compare the mood of it to the middle and the end. The end was lovely because it showed how she went through all and got a h+ll of a ridee. She was safe and sound. It really disturbes me when people talk bad about a movie who won MULTIPLE OSCARS! I mean, I admit it, i could of never had come up with such a well developed script. That goes for all of us! If some can't recognize the value of such art like this movie, the comments should be kept to themselves.

I think some people here kind of underestimate just how good this movie was in terms of visual effects (I thought the soundtrack and use of sound was brilliant too but that's just my opinion). One of the most exciting films I've ever seen, saw it several times in cinema and would like to go again. Deserved every oscar it won (didn't win anything anything related to story or best movie or anything so stop whining)

I love this move it made me feel as if I was in a dream I was in space as well. Aspecialy the part where gorge clowney is in the station with her and then he's not real just a ghost. This movie is just AMAZING!!!!

The last scene when she touched the Earth soil was so satisfying... After watching this movie I appreciate and give value to everything our Mother Nature has given us for our survival in this planet 🌍.. Great movie "Gravity"

Watched it on your phone...? So both pirating it and completely missing out on the epic experience seeing it in 3D on a massive screen. If this isn't a joke I hope you know the film would have been even better, vastly so, if you'd not watched it on your phone. :p

Yo pienso que Gravity e Interestellar están al mismo nivel de buenas, es cierto que dura mucho más Interestellar y es un poco más compleja por así decirlo pero igualmente ambas son películas espectaculares e increíbles que les doy un 10/10

I loved Gravity and i loved interstellar. But the fact that they're both in space doesnt mean they can be comparable. Actually Gravity is more of an action movie and interstellar is a Hard sci-fi movie. That's why the plot in gravity is a shit compared to interstellar. But the scenes and the tension in gravity is beyond anything. Both are great movies

Not true at all, it was just a damn snooze fest from start to finish, very overrated. Terminator was a huge hit yet I don't here much people hating on it.

from what I heard people hate it because it didn't have much of a story. I care a bit about effects like it shouldn't look like a cartoon, but what I really love is great storeis.

I hate it because Sandra Bullock’s character makes increasingly bad decisions throughout the film and yet she survives. Unequivocally she got George Clooney’s character killed through sheer incompetence. Failure to comply, failure to communicate, failure to act in a timely manner at any point during the film. She’s an absolute buffoon. The rest of the film is great, she’s terrible.

I just saw it again in my OLED TV, that's the shit. I think a lot of people don't understand this movie is actually a Drama movie in space rather than a Thriller Science Fiction movie. If they had pushed it as such perhaps the appreciation would have been higher with fewer Star Wars, Alien, Apollo 13, 2012, etc. fans expecting something it was never intended to be. In my opinion it's a fantastic movie, one of my favorites ever.

I'm glad I didn't watch any of the trailers or clips for this film before seeing it. It was breathtaking to watch in 3D, I was absolutely blown away.
