For countless generations, individuals have taken advantage of those who are powerless.

No, we just don't get it
We, as a society, still fail to understand the suffering that we inflict on others.

Eradicate the false narrative that is used to justify unjust actions.

End the practice of holding people captive for personal gain or profit.

Destroy this portion of history and refuse to let this event occur again.

The oppressive system still coerces people into conformity and compliance for the continuation of their authority.

Structured to maintain the awareness
Our societal structure was intentionally designed to sustain awareness of the wrongs in history and to prevent them from happening again.

And the civilizations we made
The civilizations created in the past have left lasting impacts on the world, both good and bad.

The lands we plundered and the cultures we raped
The destruction of land and culture is part of our violent progression throughout history.

Were all part of progression
The terrible actions taken in the past were deemed necessary for progress by those in power.

Victims of a capitalist system
The people deemed as victims suffer under the weight of the economic system established by the wealthy and powerful.

Just statistics in history books
The lives lost are reduced to numbers in historical literature, ignoring the true gravity of the situation.

That glorify mass murders
The narrative surrounding past heinous acts often leads to their romanticization and depiction as heroic.

And the genocides
The widespread killing of specific groups of people is often ignored or dismissed as normal in history books.

What has changed and what have we accomplished
Describing the state of human progress which has not effectively brought about the desired change in society.

In our strive for equality?
Despite efforts to treat everyone equally, there are still severe inequalities in society.

Oppression rules and money controls
The powerful elite maintain control through oppression and money.

In a world were war is still
Despite attempts for global peace, the world is still riddled with conflict and war.

Economically beneficial
Profit is often the motive for the continuation of wars, ignoring the human cost of casualties.

For those in power
The ruling class benefits the most financially and politically from these conflicts.

Sexist, homophobic, racist existence
A society that blatantly perpetuates sexist, homophobic, and racist beliefs.

We still fight for freedom
Despite the continuing struggle for basic rights and freedom, change is still met with opposition and violence.
