This became more apparent when his wife filed for divorce and his music became harder than it had been and his lyrics became more personal and harsh. He played keys on one New Found Glory song and often joined them on stage during their Back to Basics tour in the spring of 2005. More recently, Dewees has announced playing keyboard on some of My Chemical Romance's new cd. When asked about "Reggie" he said that once the new MCR cd comes out, I will be touring with them and become a full blown member of MCR.
The fifth studio album titled Last Stop: Crappy Town was released June 17, 2008.
Girl Why'd You Run Away?
Reggie and the Full Effect Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Trying to get away from her past
I don't think she'll escape
So girl why you run away
You look so afraid, is it of me
You can't sit still for very long
I think that I'd stay some more
So girl why you run away
You look so afraid, is it of me
Now that your gone, I wonder
What I could have said to you
I wish I knew you promised me that
Ah, damn it
So girl why you run away
You look so afraid
I hope that it's not of me
She's driving, oh so vary fast
Trying to get away from her past
I don't think she'll escape
So girl why you run away
You look so afraid, is it of me
So girl why you run away
You look so afraid
I hope that it's not of me
The lyrics of "Girl Why'd You Run Away?" seems to be about the singer trying to figure out why the girl he's interested in is so afraid of him that she's constantly running away. He watches her try to escape her past by driving fast, but he knows that she won't succeed. The singer feels confused as to why the girl is so scared of him; he asks her why she always runs away and if it's because of him.
In the second verse, the singer realizes that the girl he was interested in has already left him. He thinks about what he could have done differently to make her stay. Maybe there was something he wanted to say but didn't or maybe he wishes he had the opportunity to tell her he cares for her more.
The chorus repeats twice, with the singer questioning why the girl runs away, and expressing a hope that it is not because of him. The lyrics overall seem to suggest that the singer has missed an opportunity with the girl he likes, as she's already moved on.

This was one of my top jams in high school. 21 years later, it will be one of my top jams during my mid-life crisis.
I would like to suggest a follow up to this song titled: "Bish, what was you runnin' from?!?"
