Take Me Home Please
Reggie and the Full Effect Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Asking me discretely, when she can come meet me, later on tonight
Talking super softly, how we both look gothy, but it's alright
Don't tell me what you're doing to me
I don't want to look sleazy, but you make it seem so easy

Anna, please get off the phone now
I've got to let you know now, it's time for you to take me home
Anna, please get off the phone now
I've got to let you know now, how much you mean to me

Kissing me so slowly, shouldn't be this lucky, like we're in a movie
Smiling at me in the moonlight, wish this could be everynight
And everynight and everynight again
Don't tell me what you're doing to me
I don't want to look sleazy, but you make it seem so easy

Anna, please get off the phone now
I've got to let you know now, it's time for you to take me home
Anna, please get off the phone now
I've got to let you know now, how much you mean to me

And I'd still be waiting, when all this starts fading It's true
You don't even know how much I need you

Anna, please get off the phone now
I've got to let you know now, it's time for you to take me home

Anna, please get off the phone now
I've got to let you know now, how much you mean to me

James Dewees is a musical genius, I hope more people in the future will discover his music and body of work across genres and he finally gets the recognition he deserves.

@DooMedSean

Agreed, I have listened to this man's music for decades now, Reggie and the Full Effect are one of my all time favorite bands in existence! I just miss seeing him live, as well as knowing he's making new music.....it's been 3 or so years of dead silence from Dewees and it's concerning/depressing. I hope he is well and comes back with new music and a tour but if he's done with it all I can respect that, just let the fans know what's going on.
I've seen Reggie probably the most out of any other band live, and for good reason too, he always puts on the best shows, the earlier years were a lot better of course and filled with costumes, wacky shenanigans, and then the last couple tours I saw them he didn't have anything like that it was just more real, like any other band you see live, no costumes, alternate personas, goofy surprises ...and what I mean by that is when he toured with New Found Glory years ago, during their set, they were playing a song and here comes James riding a fire truck power wheels, in fireman's outfit, spraying a little hose out into the crowd lmao! I'll never forget that and how amazing it was, never seen anything like it from any other band I've seen live lol not even anything close.
I love James Dewees and Reggie and the Full Effect, I just hate to see that he's gone silent, no updates, new music or even plans for new stuff, no tours....it really sucks. But he's given me plenty of great memories over the years at shows as well as absolutely phenomenal music to treasure forever, so I'll give him credit there

@DomPeriod

@@DooMedSean His silence is sad, man. Reggie and the Full Effect is one of the acts I'd kill to see live. I saw Motion City Soundtrack last year.

@richnthick1352

I get such 2005-2006 vibes, dance dance revolution, emo getting mainstream, MySpace, no smart phones or apps for another 4 or 5 years so we were still going outside and to the mall.

@fancybroly2627

The good times my guy

@siddsatterwhite1989

Songs like these sum up an era for me. I was born in 92 and hella into the emo scene lmao.

Edit: i just realized im on my gfs account. She wasnt born til 99 which makes it weird to think about her being a first grader at the time ahahahahahahah

@michaeltrujillo4149

The only downside was the maximum 2 minute long recording capability of flip phones. Still have all my clips from the shows though :-)

@djrossstar

This was such a fun video to be a part of! I am in the 21 jersey next to James!

@ghostfacekiller45

How much for the jersey? I love this this video after having my heart broken so many times. I keep crawling back to this song.
