In late 2011, guitarist/vocalist Jordan Cook moved to Seattle, Washington, from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where he was introduced to David "Stitch" Rapaport and Joseph Braley from the band The Mothers Anger. Cook formed the band Reignwolf and invited Rapaport and Braley to join him.
In August 2013, after more than a full year of non-stop touring, the band released their first single, "Are You Satisfied?", the same day they performed at Lollapalooza. Later that year, they announced they had been selected as the direct support act on Black Sabbath's 2014 North American tour. Two more singles followed ("In the Dark" and "Lonely Sunday"), and Reignwolf was declared one of "10 New Artists You Need to Know" by Rolling Stone in January 2014.
The band played their final show of the year on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2014, at The Showbox in Seattle. In 2015, Reignwolf signed with Stardog Records under the Republic/UMG umbrella and went into the studio to write and record their debut album. During that time, they appeared in the episode "What Would Phil Do?" of Cameron Crowe's Showtime series Roadies.
Released on February 1, 2019, "Black and Red" was the first single from "Hear Me Out", which came out on March 1, 2019. On June 17, 2022, Reignwolf released the single "The Woods" with Rage Against the Machine drummer Brad Wilk.

Reignwolf Lyrics

There's something wrong with you
Twist of fate, born to wait
So waiting's all we do
Welcome back, red and black
There's something wrong with me
I let you in, you broke the skin
Hang on
'Cause it's a long way down
I'll be right behind you
Laying down, I'm settled down
Settle down with me
I know out there, there's nothing for you
Hang on
'Cause it's a long way down
I'll be right behind you
You know I will
Well, hang on tight
'Cause it's a long way down
I'll be right behind you
"Black and Red" is a song by Reignwolf that speaks about a complex relationship between two people characterized by the titular colors, black and red. The lyrics speak of something being wrong with both the singer and the other person, and how they are both stuck in a cycle of waiting for something. The singer welcomes the black and red, which seems to symbolize both darkness and passion, into their life, but it eventually leads to pain and a sense of being alive. The song closes with the plea to hang on tight because going down will be a long journey, but the singer will always be right behind them.
The lyrics of "Black and Red" may not have a straightforward meaning, but they touch on the idea of two opposing forces existing in a relationship. The black and red colors could symbolize passion and the pain that comes with love. The phrase "twist of fate, born to wait" implies that the relationship may have some element of destiny or inevitability, but both parties are nonetheless waiting for something to happen. The line "I know out there, there's nothing for you" suggests that the only place to go is down or towards something dark and unknown.

Preto e vermelho na minha cabeça
Tem algo errado com você
Twist of fate, nascido para esperar
Então, esperar é tudo o que fazemos

Eu deixei você entrar, você quebrou a pele
Algo ganhou vida

Very underrated.
People now a days just complain about how rock died.
If they could just search Reignwolf they will see.

The AcousticSkeleton it’s not dead. It’s underground. Just gotta dig deep enough and you’ll find it. Gotta get past the bullshit of the generation first.
